Bananas als prvide greater anti—inflammatry which benefits than sprts drinks.
“Cnsuming bananas with water during exercise has several advantages fr athletes abve thse linked t regular sprts drinks,” Dr. David Nieman said in a statement. “Banana metablites(代谢物)that increase in the bld have a similar effect t aspirin that inhibits (抑制) COX—2 activity. This makes bananas clse t the perfect athletic fd.”
“Althugh aspirin and ther anti-inflammatry drugs (AIDs) help athletes with pst exercise pain, they are ften discuraged because they can cause cell damage,” Nieman tells Men's Health. “Fr this reasn,we tell athletes nt t take them,”he says. “T ur pleasant surprise, we fund smething natural in bananas is wrking like these painkillers but withut the risks. ”

“There’s n questin that sprts drinks wrk,” he explains. “But bananas als have ther nutrients—vitamin C,B6 and these unique metablites — that yu dn't get with a sprts drink. ” Next up, the research team is lking at ther fruits as exercise cmpanins. “We're starting t lk at blueberries, because we think with bananas they might wrk even better,” Nieman says.

T learn new things, we must smetimes fail. But what's the right amunt f failure? New research led by the University f Arizna prpses a mathematical answer t that questin.
Educatrs have lng recgnized that there is smething f a "sweet spt" when it cmes t learning. That is, we learn best when we are challenged t grasp smething just utside f ur existing knwledge. When a challenge is t simple, we dn't learn anything new; likewise, we dn't expand ur knwledge when a challenge is s difficult that we fail entirely r give up.
S where des the sweet spt lie? Accrding t the new study, it's when failure ccurs 15% f the time. Put anther way, it's when the right answer is given 85%f the time.
Researchers at the University f Arizna came up with the s-called "85% Rule" after cnducting a series f machine-learning experiments in which they taught cmputers simple tasks, such as classifying different patterns int ne f tw categries.
The cmputers learned fastest in situatins in which the difficulty was such that they respnded with 85% accuracy.
"If yu have an errr rate f 15% r accuracy f 85%, yu are always maximizing yur rate f learning in these tw-chice tasks," said Prfessr Rbert Wilsn.
When we think abut hw humans learn, the 85%Rule wuld mstly likely apply t perceptual(感知的)learning, in which we gradually learn thrugh experience and examples, Wilsn said. Imagine, fr instance, a radilgist(放射科医生)learning t tell the difference between images f tumrs(肿瘤)and nn-tumrs.
"Yu need examples t get better at figuring ut there's a tumr in an image, "Wilsn said. "If I give really easy examples, yu get 100% right all the time and there's nthing left t learn. Yu're nt ging t be taking as much frm that as a situatin where yu are struggling a little hit. If I give really hard examples, yu'll he 50% crrect and still nt learning anything new, while if I give yu smething in between, yu can he at this sweet spt where yu are getting the mst infrmatin frm each particular example."
12. Which f the fllwing is linked with the sweet spt?
A. 15 percent accuracy.B. 50 percent accuracy.
C. 85 percent accuracy.D. 100 percent right.
13. Why did the researchers teach cmputers simple tasks?
A. T find ut where the sweet spt lies.B. T see hw well cmputers carry ut tasks.
C. T cmpare the results f their experiments.D. T cnduct sme research n machine learning.
14. What is the purpse f the "examples" mentined in the last paragraph?
A. T teach what t d in the treatment f tumrs.B. T teach hw t determine there is a tumr.
C. T help t remember what is learned.D. T help t learn hw a tumr develps.
15. Accrding t the text, what is the mst effective way f learning?
A. Nt taking failure t seriusly.B. Learning thrugh experience and examples.
C. Struggling a little bit, but nt t much.D. Learning things that are cmpletely new.
