Offered during every summer and every winter t peple with any level in French, Explre Prgrams are language prgrams which allw yu t discver anther area f Canada while learning French. There is a three-week Explre (aged 13 t 15) prgram and an Explre prgram if yu’re a 16-year-ld r lder student.
Fees
The three-week Explre prgram: $2,000(taxable incme).
The Explre prgram: $2,800 (taxable incme).The fee cvers the majr expenses fr participating in the prgram: tuitin, teaching materials,wrkshps, accmmdatins, and mst f yur activities. Aside frm persnal spending (n snacks r suvenirs, etc.), yu will need t pay registratin fees and travel expenses.
Eligibility Criteria (资格标准)
In rder t qualify fr Explre Prgrams, yu must:
——be a Canadian citizen(thse studying in Canada n a student visa are nt eligible);
——meet the age limits by the time yur Explre curse begins;
——have been a full-time student fr at least ne term during the present schl year.
There are n grade r language skill requirements fr the prgrams. Hwever, yu must have met all f the abve criteria fr the entire duratin f the prgram. Sir Rnald Rss was brn in Almra, India in 1857. During his early years, he develped interests in petry, literature, music, and mathematics, all f which he cntinued t engage in (从事) fr the rest f his life.
Althugh he had n tendency t study medicine, at the age f 17 he agreed t bey his father’s wish t see him enter the Indian Medical Service. He began his medical studies at St. Barthlmew’s Hspital Medical Cllege, Lndn in 1874. Later, he develped his scientific interests and tk a curse in bacterilgy.
In 1892 he became interested in malaria and, having riginally dubted the parasites’ (寄生虫的) existence, became an enthusiastic supprter f the belief that malaria parasites were in the bld stream when this was demnstrated t him by Patrick Mansn in 1894.
In 1895, Rss began t prve the hypthesis (假说) f Alphnse Laveran and Mansn that msquites (蚊子) were cnnected with the spread f malaria. Hwever, his prgress was hampered by the Indian Medical Service.
On 20 August 1897 Rss made his landmark discvery. While dissecting (解剖) the stmach tissue f a msquit fed fur days previusly n a malarius patient, he fund the malaria parasite and went n t prve the rle f msquites in the transmissin f malaria parasites in humans.
He cntinued his research int malaria in India, using a mre cnvenient experimental mdel, malaria in birds. By July 1898, he had demnstrated that msquites culd serve as intermediate (中间的) hsts fr bird malaria. After feeding msquites n infected (被感染的) birds, he fund that the malaria parasites culd develp in the msquites, allwing the msquites t infect ther birds during fllwing bld meals.

Their effrts have been prven fruitful. Wang Shu, a 49-year-ld Chinese architect, wn the 2012 Pritzker Architecture Prize — which is ften referred t as the Nbel Prize in architecture — n February 28. He is the first Chinese citizen t win this award.
Wang serves as head f the Architecture Department at the China Academy f Art (CAA). His ffice is lcated at the Xiangshan campus(校园) f the university in Hangzhu Zhejiang Prvince. Many buildings n the campus are his riginal creatins.
