    Zhang Guhui, a 77-year-ld inheritr f the watertight-bulkhead techniques used t make Chinese junks, has been making ships fr mre than six decades. Cming frm a pr family in a fishing twn in East China’s Fujian Prvince, Zhang started t make a living at the age f 16 fishing n the pen seas, which is where he develped a keen interest in cnstructing bats. As a fast learner, Zhang was later sent t shipyards in the cities f Quanzhu and Xiamen in Fujian Prvince, where he received training and became a master f traditinal Chinese junks and gained fame because f his extremely skilled craftsmanship in the cnstructin f these junks.
