The US-based nnprfit New Stry has teamed up with the tech cmpany ICON t build the wrld’s first 3D printed neighbrhd. It’s part f their prject wrking t fight glbal hmelessness.
Brett Hagler, the cmpany’s CEO and c-funder, says the machine starts at the very bttm f the hme, laying the cement (水泥) all the way t tp where a rf is then placed. Start t finish, the entire prcess takes just 24 hurs t print. The cmpany hires lcal wrkers t attach the rf and drs, Hagler says.
Each 3D printed hme will have tw bedrms, a living rm, kitchen and bathrm. Families there are living fr less than $3 a day. Each hme can stand hurricanes and medium-level earthquakes, Hagler says.
