    1. N way ! 没门 N way 意为“不可能;决不;不行;没门”,多用于口语中,表示某人不可能做某事或某事不可能发生。例:----Can I leave nw? 我可以现在离开吗? ----N way! 不行!2. I dn’t think sixteen-year-lds shuld be allwed t drive. 我认为不应该允许16岁的青少年开车。
    (1) sixteen-year-lds 名词,意为“16岁的青少年”,相当于sixteen-year-ld bys and girls。 sixteen-year-lds,sixteen-year-ld与 sixteen years ld. sixteen-year-lds“16岁的青少年”,是名词,在“基数词-名词(单数)-形容词”结构中,形容词后加-s表示一类人或事物。例:Sixteen-year-lds shuld be allwed t g ut at night. 应该允许16岁的青少年夜间外出。
    ② sixteen-year-ld“16岁的”,是由“基数 词-名词(单数)-形容词”构成的复合形容 词,在句中通常做前置定语,修饰名词。例:My pen pal is a sixteen-year-ld by. 我的笔友是一个16岁的男孩。 ③sixteen years ld“16岁”,用来描述人的 年龄,常在句中作表语。例:My brther is sixteen years ld. 我哥哥十六岁了。
    (2)allw (t let sb. d sth.)及物动词,意为“允许;准许”,常用于下列结构中: ① allw sb. t d sth. 允许某人做某事例:The teacher allwed him t g int the classrm. 老师允许他进教室。 ② allw ding sth.允许做某事例:We dn’t allw smking in public places. 我们不允许在公共场所吸烟。
    ③ be (nt) allwed t d sth. (不) 被允许做某事例:Passengers are nt allwed t smke. 不允许乘客吸烟。3. I’m wrried abut yur safety. 我担心你的安全。(1)wrried 作形容词,意为“担心的;烦恼的;焦虑的”。常用短语be wrried abut意为“为……担心”。例:Dn’t be s wrried. Everything will be fine. 不要如此担心,一切都会好起来的。
    wrry 可用作不及物动词,其后接宾语时要加abut,即wrry abut,意为“担心”,可与be wrried abut 互换。例:Dn’t wrry abut me. 别为我担心。
    (2) safety 名词,意为“安全;安全性”,其常用短语 in safety 意为“处于安全状态”。例:I will answer fr her safety. 我将对她的安全负责。 The children are nw in safety. 孩子们现在安全了。
    safety, safe 即safely 的对应反义词

    4. Students shuld nt be allwed t have part-time jbs. 不应该允许学生做兼职(1)part-time jbs是合成形容词,意为“兼职的;业余的;非全日制的”,其反义词是full-time,意为“全职的;全日制的”。
    例:In America many students are part-time wrkers. 在美国,许多学生是兼职工作者。(2)jb可数名词,意为“工作”,指零散的、具体的工作。其近义词为wrk,是不可数名词,其常用短语为at wrk,意为“在工作”。例:He lked fr wrk fr several mnths and at last he fund a jb mst suitable fr him. 他一连找了好几个月的工作,最后找到 了一份适合自己的工作。
    5. Sixteen-year-lds shuld be allwed t get their ears pierced. 应该允许16岁的青少年打耳洞。 get ne’s ears pierced 意为“打耳洞”,此处get为使役动词,相当于make和have,意为“使;让”。“get / have+宾语+过去分词”意为“使某事被做”或“让某人做某事”。例:Yu’d better g and get yur hair cut. it’s t lng. 你最好去把头发理了。它太长了。
    get用于使役动词还可用于get sb. t d sth.结构,意为“使某人做某事”例:I can’t get him t change his idea. 我不能使他改变想法。
    6. Teenagers shuld be allwed t chse their wn clthes. 应该允许青少年选择他们自己的衣服。(1)chse及物动词,其后可接名词或代词作宾语。例:He chse a gd jb last year. 去年他选择了一份好工作。
    ① chse t d sth.例:He chse t g there by air. 他决定乘飞机去那里② chse+特殊疑问词+t d例:Yu will have t chse which ne t buy. 你将不得不选择买哪一个。
    chse 还可用于以下两种结构:
    (2)wn 此处用作形容词,意为“自己的;本人的”,常用在形容词性物主代词或所有格之后,以加强语气。还可用作代词,意为“属于自己的东西”。常用结构“ne’s wn +sth.”表示”某人自己的……”,相当于“sth.+f ne’s wn”。例:This is yur wn duty. Dn’t be angry with thers. 这是你自己的责任。不要迁怒于他人。 I want t have a big huse f my wn. 我想有一所属于自己的大房子。
    7. I agree. They aren’t serius enugh. 我同意。他们不够稳重。 enugh副词,意为“足够地”,修饰形容词或副词要后置。例:Yu dn’t wrk hard enugh. 你工作不够努力。
    enugh 还可用作形容词,意为“足够的;充足的”。修饰名词时,一般放在名词前面,有时也放在名词后面。例:There will be enugh mney fr us. 我们将有足够的钱。
    There will be time enugh t relax fr us.我们将有足够的时间休息。
    8. He shuld stp wearing that silly earring.他应该停止戴那个可笑的耳环。(1)stp ding sth. 意为“停止做某事”。例:Let’s stp talking!让我们停止说话吧!
    stp ding sth. 与 stp t d sth.
    例:The tw girls stpped talking when they saw me. 那两个女孩看到我时停止了讲话。 I stpped t talk t him when I saw him. 我看到他时停下来去和他讲话。(2)silly为形容词,意为“愚蠢的;傻的;可笑 的”。例:It was silly f yu t trust him. 你信任他,真是愚蠢。
    silly, flish与stupid
    例:Hw can yu explain such a silly remark? 你怎么解释这样一个可笑的言论? But why are we s flish? 但是我们为什么这么愚蠢呢?
    I was surprised at his stupid act. 他愚蠢的行为让我大吃一惊。9. I’m really excited abut seeing the famus paintings by Picass. 看毕加索的这些著名的油画,我真的很兴奋。(1)be/get excited abut 意为“对……感到兴 奋”,其中abut后可接名词、代词或动词- ing形式。例:She gt excited abut it as sn as she heard abut the gd news. 她一听到那个好消息,就变得很兴奋。
    Are yu excited abut ging t Shanghai? 你对去上海感到兴奋吗?(2)excited意为“兴奋的;激动地”,主语常 常为人。exciting意为“令人激动的”,主语常为物。例:We were very excited when we wn the first prize. 当我们赢得 一等奖使,我们很激动。 The ftball match was very exciting. 那场足球赛非常激动人心的。

    What des the title mean?
    The title means that a mther always knws what is best fr a child, even thugh the child may disagree with the mther.
    When I was a tiny baby crying all night, my mm sang t me and stayed by my side.当我还是一个整夜哭闹的小婴儿时,妈妈给我唱歌,陪伴在我身边。(1)tiny (very small in size r amunt)形容词,意为“极小的;微小的”。例:The baby put his tiny hand in mine. 那个婴儿把小手放在我的手中。
    (2)cry 此处用作不及物动词,意为“哭;叫喊”。例:Dn’t cry. Yur mm is cming. 别哭了!你妈妈来了。
    cry可用作名词,意为“叫喊;大喊;哭”。例:When he heard a cry fr help, he run ut as quickly as he culd. 听到呼救声,他尽可能快地跑了出去。
    2. When I fell and hurt myself, she gave me a hug and lifted me up. 当我受伤跌倒时,她给我拥抱并把我抱起来。(1)hug( an act f putting yur arms arund sb. and hlding them tightly)此处作名词,意为“拥抱;搂抱”。give sb. a hug 意为“拥抱某人”。例:Mr. Smith gave his daughter a hug and put her t bed. 史密斯先生拥抱了一下女儿并安顿她上床睡觉。
    hug 用作动词时意为“拥抱;搂抱”。例:She hugged her sister when she met her. 当遇到了妹妹时,她拥抱了她。
    (2)lift此处用作及物动词,意为“举起;抬高”。例:The bx is t heavy fr me t lift. 这箱子太重,我搬不起来。

    例:That package might be t heavy t lift. 那个包裹可能太重,搬不动。 If yu have any questin, please raise yur hand.如果有什么问题请举手。

    (2) regret 可用作名词,意为“懊悔”。例:I have n regrets abut leaving Beijing. 我一点儿也不后悔离开北京。
