    Materials Needed:
    Whitebard and markers
    Pictures f languages and language families
    Authentic reading passage n languages arund the wrld
    Prcedure:
    Step 1: Warm-up
    The teacher can display pictures f different languages and ask students t identify them. The teacher can then ask students t share any interesting facts they knw abut these languages.
    Step 2: Pre-reading
    The teacher can intrduce the tpic f the reading passage and ask students t predict what the passage will be abut. The teacher can als ask students t brainstrm different language families and their distributin arund the wrld.
    Step 3: Reading
    The teacher can distribute the reading passage and ask students t read it silently first, and then read it ut lud as a class. The teacher can pause after each paragraph and ask students t summarize what they have understd. The teacher can als explain any difficult vcabulary r cncepts as necessary.
    Step 4: Cmprehensin questins
    The teacher can ask students t answer cmprehensin questins based n the reading passage. These questins can be bth factual and inferential. The teacher can als ask students t prvide evidence frm the text t supprt their answers.
    Step 5: Vcabulary and grammar exercises
    The teacher can prvide vcabulary and grammar exercises related t the reading passage t reinfrce language skills. Fr example, the teacher can ask students t identify and explain the meaning f specific wrds r phrases, r t use certain grammar structures crrectly in sentences.
    Step 6: Grup discussin
    The teacher can divide students int small grups and ask them t discuss the similarities and differences amng languages frm different families. The grups can then present their ideas t the class, and the teacher can facilitate a class discussin.
    Step 7: Writing activity
    The teacher can ask students t write a shrt essay r paragraph abut their favrite language and why they find it interesting. The essay can include a descriptin f the language's unique features, cultural cntext, and persnal cnnectin.
