Within six mnths, she was named a chief resident physician, a psitin that usually tk fur years t achieve. After wrking fr a few years, she was sent t study in Eurpe and then, in 1939, in the US. The first persn dwn the street was a milkman with his cart. He crashed int the stne,spilling the milk everywhere."What fl put this stne here?"he shuted. He picked himself up and angrily went away.
After a while,a grup f wmen came alng, each balancing a pt f water n her head. One wman tripped ver the stne and her water pt went crashing t the grund. She picked herself up and limped away in tears.Neither she nr her friends thught abut mving the stne ut f the rad.
The king watched all day as many peple cmplained abut the stne, but he fund nbdy making an attempt t mve it. The king was in despair."Is there n ne in this village wh feels any respnsibility t keep their neighburs frm harm?" Just then, the king saw a yung girl cming alng. She was the daughter f a lcal farmer, She had been wrking all day and was very tired. But when she saw the stne, she said t herself,"This stne is a danger t anyne wh cmes dwn the street after dark. Ill mve it ut f the way."
The girl pushed the stne with all her might. After a great deal f effrt, she finally succeeded in mving it t the side f the street.Imagine her surprise when she saw the gld cins where the stne had been!
