    Sme time ag, in my class I was abut t fail a student fr his answer t a physics questin when the student claimed he deserved a better scre.     “We fund that less mbile, nnflying grund beetles, which are critical pest cntrl agents, are mre likely t fall ver time in a warmer, dryer climate,” said Tng Qiu, wh led the study. “That means yu’re ging t have mre pests that can influence agricultural and frest ecsystems.” But there is reasn fr hpe, Qiu added, because the analysis als shwed that habitat cnservatin can lessen these effects and imprve the situatin in sme areas.
    “We hpe cnservatin bilgists will use this infrmatin and the nline map that we created t better manage habitats fr insects in general. Grund beetles are very beneficial t ecsystems, but peple pay little attentin t them. In this paper we’re shwing the brad influence they have n whle cmmunities in frested and agricultural ecsystems,” said Qiu.
    The researchers used grund beetle cunt data frm the Natinal Science Fundatin’s Natinal Eclgical Observatry Netwrk (NEON) and frm 11 early published studies t measure and map the beetles’ distributin(分布) acrss Nrth America. Habitat infrmatin, such as the lcatin f gaps in frest canpies and the density f plants n a frest flr, was acquired by using NEON’s imaging technlgy t create detailed three-dimensinal images f landscapes.
