I. Teaching aims and learning bjectives
By the end f the lessn, students shuld be able t:
1. knw abut the rising tne and the falling tne;
2. use theright tne when speaking.

III.Teaching prcedures
Step 1 Lead-in
Watch a vide.
T: First let’s enjy a piece f music. Music has high ntes, lw ntes and the ntes in the middle. English is just like music. There are falling tnes and rising tnes when we speak.
【设计意图:将英语语调与音乐类比,让学生产生共鸣,从而引入升调和降调的概念。】
Step 2 Presentatin
1. Falling tne.
T: When we speak, we drp ur tne at the end f a statement. Listen and repeat.
2. Rising tne.
T: When we ask a yes/n questin, ur tne rises at the end f the questin. Listen and repeat.
3. Watch tw vides and wrk ut the rules.
T: When we ask a wh-questin, ur tne usually falls at the end f the questin. Listen and repeat.
T: We make ur tne rise at the end f a sentence t shw surprise. Listen and repeat.
【设计意图:介绍陈述句用降调,一般疑问句用升调,让学生模仿练习。观看外籍教师制作的关于语调的教学视频,然后让学生总结其中的规律,并练习模仿正确的语调。】
Step 3 Practice
1. A dialgue between Alice and Susan.
(1) Read the cnversatin belw. Put a falling arrw r a rising arrw at the end f each sentence.
(2) Watch a vide between Alice and Susan.
(3) Check answers with the students.
(4) Practice saying these sentences.
2. Millie and Sandy’s cnversatin.
(1) Put a falling arrw r a rising arrw at the end f each sentence.
(2) Listen t the dialgue.
(3) Check answers with the students.
3. Pair wrk.
T: Wrk in pairs and talk abut yur weekend plan. Remember t use the right tnes.
