Step 1 Lead-in
Find the secret wrd.
T: Bys and girls, I have a secret wrd. Yu can get it by finishing the wrd puzzle. Lk at the pictures and get the suitable wrds ne by ne.
T: Well dne. Lk! What’s the secret wrd?
S: Rabbit.
T: Yes. It’s Mr Rabbit.
【设计意图:利用猜词游戏,复习本单元部分词汇的同时,得出“兔子”这个秘密单词,为下文的开展做好铺垫。】
Step 2 Presentatin
1. Finish the diary.
T: Mr Rabbit wrte a diary, but sme wrds are missing. Please help him finish it with the crrect frms f the given wrds.
【设计意图:利用兔先生的日记复习动词的过去式。】
2. Past frms f verbs.
T: Very gd! Lk at sme verbs and the past frms n the screen. And they can be divided int tw grups. What are they?
S: Regular verbs and irregular verbs.
T: Right. And d yu still remember the changing rules f regular verbs? Let’s review them. N.1, pass and passed.
S: 直接加ed。
T: Yes. N. 2, ntice and nticed.
S: 结尾是e的动词加d。
T: Crrect. N. 3, try and tried.
S: 结尾是“辅音字母 + y”的动词,先变y为i,再加ed。
T: Great. N. 4, stp and stpped.
S: 末尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节词,先双写这个辅音字母,再加ed。
3. Time expressins.
T: Lk at the tw sentences. Why shuld we use the simple past tense?
S: Because f “that day” and “the ther day”.
T: Yes. D yu knw any ther time expressins referring t the simple past tense? Lk at the screen, and I’ll give yu sme hints.

4. Lk and say.
T: Fill in the blanks using the simple past tense.
S: Alice was utside ne sunny day.
T: Yes. That means …
S: She was nt at hme ne sunny day.
T: That’s it. We use “wasn’t” r “was nt” t frm the negative sentence. Then lk at the next picture and fill in the blanks.
S: They were in the field.
S: They weren’t n the playgrund.
T: Right. We use “weren’t” r “were nt” t frm the negative sentence. We knw that Alice jumped int the hle after the rabbit. Why?
S: She didn’t want the rabbit t get away.
T: S we can als use “didn’t d” r “did nt d” t frm negative sentences.
T: Nw let’s wrk ut the rule. If we want t make negative sentences with simple past tense, we can use wasn’t, weren’t and didn’t.
5. Practice.
(1) Change the sentences int the negative nes.
(2) Talking abut last weekend’s activities.

(3) Finish Part A n Page 74.
(4) Ask and answer in pairs.
(5) Wrk ut the rule.

(6) Change the sentences as directed.
(7) Cmplete Sandy and Simn’s cnversatin.
T: D yu knw the meaning f “put up a tent”? Lk at the picture. What are the children ding?
S: They are putting up a tent.

1. Weekend activities.
T: Frm the dialgue and the passage, we can find many weekend activities. What are they? And what ther activities can we d at weekends?
T: What activities did yu d last weekend? Please talk with yur partners and make up a dialgue. Yu can use these sentence patterns fr help.

2. Cnclusin.
T: Tday we learned smething mre abut the simple past tense. Let’s draw a cnclusin.
T: And here are sme sentences t help yu remember the use f the simple past tense.
动词一般过去时,表示过去发生事;
be用was或者were, d、des成did;
谓语动词过去式, 过去时间做标志;
一般动词加-ed, 若是特殊得牢记。
否定句很简单, 主语之后didn’t添;
疑问句也不难, did放在主语前;
如果谓语之前有did,谓语动词需还原;
动词若是was、were, 否定就把nt添。
【设计意图:借助图表,将所学内容系统化;借助诗歌,帮助学生记忆用法。】
