    run ut f “动词+副词+介词”的短语。f后接宾语,主语通常是表示“人”的名词, 也可用于某种能消耗物品的机器等,意为 “ ……用完了……”。run ut f也可表示“从……跑出来”。
    eg:He ran ut f the mney and had t abandn the prject. 他们的钱用光了,不得不放弃这个项目。 He has run ut f red ink. 他的红墨水用完了。 The dg ran ut f the rm. 这条狗从房间里跑了出来。
    【拓展】run ut “动词+副词”结构的不及物动词短语, “用完,用尽”,主语通常是表示“时间、金钱”等无生命的东西。

    fix意为“修理;安装”。fix up修理,修补,为动副结构,与mend,repair同义。

    【辨析】fix,repair,mend
    fix和repair都表示使受到一定损坏或失灵的东西恢复其性能或机能,其对象范围很广,可以用于从道路、机器到日常用品,如:repair/fix a machine/watch/rad;而mend表示修补破损的东西,使其恢复原样,一般指较小的物品,如:mend the windw/shirt/sck。

    take after着重指因有血缘关系而相像,其同义短语是be similar t。take after是“动词+介词”型短语,无论是名词还是代词作宾语,都位于after后面。
    eg:The by seems t take after his father. 这男孩似乎长得像他父亲。 My pen is similar t yurs. 我的钢笔和你的相似。
    eg:The man lks like ur headmaster. 那个人看起来像我们的校长。 The pht desn’t lk like her at all. 那张照片看起来完全不像她。
    【拓展】lk like意为“看上去像……”,多指外貌上像。

    give away意为“赠送;捐赠”,是“动词+副词”构成的短语。
    eg:The rich man gave away mst f his mney t charity. 那个富人把大部分钱捐给了慈善机构。
    eg:The headmaster gave away the prizes n the schl sprts day. 校长在学校运动会上颁发奖品。 She wuld give nthing away. 她会守口如瓶。
    【拓展】give away还有“颁发;泄露”之意。
    5. Jimmy fixes up brken bicycle parts, like wheels.
    brken在此处作形容词,可在句中作表语或定语。
    eg:My ruler is brken. Can I brrw yurs? 我的尺子坏了。我能借你的吗? Culd yu help me fix up the brken chair? 你能帮我把这把破椅子修好吗?
