5.We are always tld that TV is nt gd fr us. If it is true, hw cme the TV-addicted kids f ur yung generatin nwadays are much smarter than we are? In my family, the nly persns wh can wrk the TV remte cntrl well are the children.
Prbably TV really educates us. Fr example, we can learn a very useful medical fact: A man that has been sht always has time t speak a brken sentence when he is dying. “The killer was…” (dies)
But I suppse the biggest things that we learn frm TV can be regarded as “Life Skills”. Bad things simply happen n either strmy r dark nights. Emtinal breakdwns make peple wander in the heavy rain withut raincats r umbrellas. And cntrary t the scientists, the crack f lightning and the accmpanying flash cme n at exactly the same time, wherever the scenes are.
I’ve even gt t knw useful gegraphical facts frm science-fictin shws: Aliens nly speak the language f English n matter which planet they cme frm.
T make gd use f smething that we learn frm TV can make ur security better. Cnsider these truths. When yu are really attacked by 20 bad guys, yu needn’t wrry abut yur being utnumbered. The criminals will hang back and take turns t apprach yu in nes and tws just s yu can cnveniently defeat them all. Bad guys wh are cmpletely cvered in black clthes always remve their black masks t reveal that they are in fact, aha, wmen.
TV ften teaches us a lt f imprtant infrmatin as well abut escaping frm danger. Watch and learn. (1) If anyne is running after yu dwn a passage, yu will find that bxes have been cnveniently placed near all the walls yu need t jump ver. (2) If yu are tall and handsme, yu can run frm any number f armed criminals, and every sht will miss yu.
Be warned, hwever, if yur name card says “henchman” (帮凶) and yu are part f a grup f plain-lking peple trying t catch a handsme individual, a single sht will kill yu. But dn’t be anxius: TV als delivers useful infrmatin fr bad guys. All cars are inflammable (易燃的) and have amazing shck absrbers that enable them t fly int the air and land withut damage — except plice cars.
TV even teaches us abut TV. Whenever anyne turns n a TV, it shws a news flash abut smene they knw. They then turn the bx ff immediately after that news item.

My dctr says the frgetfulness is nly natural and that it cmes with age. Still the fear f senile dementia is haunting there. Smeday if and when I becme even mre cludy minded than I am nw, unable t drive and unable t tell yu where "hme" is, my dear sn, I expect I will ask yu t take me hme, I knw yu will d yur best t find the place I need t be.
