A friend f that persn was 25% mre likely. The researchers say this shws that a persn culd indirectly be affected by smene’s lneliness.
The effect was strngest amng friends. Neighbrs were the secnd mst affected grup. The effect was weaker n husbands and wives, and brthers and sisters. The researchers als fund that lneliness spread mre easily amng wmen than men.
The New Yrk Times newspaper reprts that, n average, peple experience feelings f lneliness abut 48 days a year. It als fund that every additinal friend can decrease lneliness by abut five percent, r tw and a half fewer lnely days.
Lneliness has been linked t health prblems like depressin and sleeping difficulties. The researchers believe that knwing the causes f lneliness culd help in reducing it.
The study suggests that peple can take steps t stp the spread f lneliness. They can d this by helping individuals they knw wh may be experiencing lneliness. The result can be helpful t the whle scial grup.
