本课教学内容选自《英语 拓展模块》第八单元“Making a Career Plan”听说板块(Listening and Speaking)。本板块内容以职业选择和职业咨询为主题,共有四个短对话和两个长对话听力活动以及两个口头交际活动。该板块教学内容要求在讨论职业选择和规划的语境中,学生能够听懂职业选择和规划的对话,填写职业咨询信息表;熟悉描述职业变化和咨询的表达,口头简要咨询职业规划和前景;并能够向同伴介绍自己的职业规划,为就业做出努力。
学情分析
职业选择和规划是学生终身都要面临的话题。本单元是上一单元的扩展和延续,即职业规划。学生在上一单元中学习过职业选择的话题,对于求职的流程和个人基本情况介绍等要素可进行迁移应用,如speak English fluently、be gd at和cmmunicate with peple等词块以及“What is yur advantage?”和“What qualificatins d yu have?”等句型。学生只有在了解自己的基础上才能更好地选择和规划职业。但学生对于职业选择和规划等内容认知尚浅,对自己的认识存在不足,且对未来的规划并不清晰。同时,学生存在话题词汇量小、句式基本结构使用混乱等语言知识问题,听力过程中的策略运用较弱,听取的是不成意群的少量文本内容,对听力内容深入理解有困难;口语上有表达的诉求,但在表达某一观点时,会受汉语语境影响,存在英文输出不够准确的问题,因而教师在课堂上通过模拟职业咨询的方式,由易及难,先让学生从了解自己入手,同时注重话题词汇归类总结,提高表达的准确性,最后帮助学生完成职业咨询和阐述自己职业规划内容的对话。

通过观看视频让学生了解计划到计划成为现实中间所经历的过程。学生通过思考明确自己的职业目标,为后面学习和找工作做铺垫。
Step 2: Listening
Activity 1: Listen and match
Ask students t scan career activities t underline the key wrds, and predict the cntent f the dialgue. Then play the listening materials.
Activity 2: Listen and chse
Ask students t scan the questins and ptins and draw the key wrds such as hw (what, hw lng and why), nuns (tur guide, cmputer engineer and phtgrapher) adj. (hard-wrking, lazy, easy-ging and hnest)and sme wrds abut career such as new department, ffice, manager, salary etc. Students actively predict the dialgue cntent, develp their ability t predict the listening cntent based n key infrmatin knwn.
Activity 3: Listen and cmplete
Ask students t scan service recrd’s infrmatin and fill in the blanks. Guide the students t draw the key infrmatin in the table, such as client’s name, type f service , appintment time, quiz result and recmmended jbs. Then play the recrding.
Finish the listening activities “Listen and match, Listen and chse and Listen and cmplete” in the textbk.
本环节以职业经历和职业咨询服务为主要话题,通过信息匹配、选择、填空等题型的听力对话内容,为学生创设话题语境,在熟悉话题的基础上,提升学生根据已知信息获取关键信息的能力,引导学生梳理良好的职业生涯规划意识。

通过补全对话让学生对文本有进一步的了解。学习文本的重点词句,夯实长难句,为后面的口语输出做铺垫。
Step 4: Speaking
Activity 5: Act and practice
Teachers create dialgue situatins thrugh pictures, and briefly intrduce the dialgue backgrund. One is talking abut career plan, and the ther is career develpment.
Students chse the situatin and d grup ral practice and demnstratin.
Students in small grups further read cntextual infrmatin, familiarize themselves with the language situatin, and prepare fr dialgue and cmmunicatin.

本环节主要是口语练习活动,主题为分享和咨询职业规划,这些话题与学生的职业生涯息息相关,学生有未来的需求。通过模仿、总结听力和口语的文本,学生进行话题的综合性输出练习,培养学生知识的迁移能力。根据情景进行对话编排和演练,增加学生职场语言的储备,培养积极的职业规划意识和奋斗精神。通过学习职业规划内容并口头分享自己设计的职业规划,学生明确设定职业目标及明确如何实现目标的重要意义,为未来的职业实践提供了指导性的意义。
