The Philadelphia Orchestra (费城交响乐团) arrived in Beijing Tuesday fr a tur that celebrates the 50th anniversary f the grup’s first visit t China.
The visit cmes as the United States and China prepare fr a meeting next week between their tp leaders.
The rchestra’s 1973 trip has been called “histric” as an early example f the start f diplmatic (外交的) relatins between China and the U.S. The rchestra’s visit fllwed President Richard Nixn’s visit in 1972. He was the first American president t visit China while in ffice.
Orchestra fficials say 14 members-are n the trip, including 73-year-ld vilin player Davyd Bth. Bth was amng the visitrs in 1973, as well.
“This cnstant (持续不断的) 50-year cnnectin with China has been really very deep and very wnderful,” Bth said after the grup arrived at the Beijing airprt.
The rchestra is making its 13th visit t China. It last visited in 2019.

Peter kept his eyes n the grund. He felt like there was a heavy weight n his shulders as he walked hme alne. It was the wrst day f his life.
