    定义:过去分词是非谓语动词的一种形式, 表示完成和 被动的动作。它在句中可充当状语、定语、表语 和补语。用法:过去分词作状语时, 其逻辑主语是主句的主语, 且与主语之间存在着被动关系。过去分词作状语 可表时间、原因、让步、 结果、条件、方式或伴 随等。

    过去分词作状语
    V-ed 在句中可充当时间、原因、条件、让步状语,相当于一个状从;
    1)Asked what had happened, he kept silent.
    2)Caught in a heavy rain, he was all wet.
    3)Given mre time, we wuld be able t d the wrk much better.
    5)She walked ut f the huse, fllwed by her little daughter.
    4)Left alne at hme, the little by didn't feel afraid at all.
    V-ed在句中可充当伴随或方式状语,相当于一个并列句;
    1 Wh was disappinted in sentence (a)? 2 What is apprached in sentence (b)?
    Lk at the sentences frm the reading passage and answer the questins.
    3.过去分词作状语是主语______的动作, 表______。
    思考: 1.diappinted 和 apprached是______分词;
    2.逗号前边的部分作_______。
    3 What is the difference between the tw grups f sentences?
    Grup(a, b)______________________.Grup(c, d)_______________________.

    4 Why des the authr chse t use -ed instead f an adverbial clause in the reading passage?
    Because -ed makes the sentences shrter and sund mre frmal as written language.
    可在过去分词前加上连词when, while, until等,说明动作发生的时间。
    ① 表示时间,相当于时间状语从句
    (When) Seen frm the hill, the village lks mre beautiful. = When it is seen frm the hill, the village lks mre beautiful.
    (When) Asked what had happened, his face turned red. =When he was asked what had happened, his face turned red. 被问到发生了什么,他的脸变红了。
    从山顶上看,村庄看起来很美。
    ② 表示原因,相当于一个原因状语从句。
    Exhausted, she fell fast asleep. = Because she was exhausted, she fell fast asleep. 因为太累了,她很快就睡着了。Cnfused by the stnes flying at them frm all sides, the bys ran int the building. = Because they were cnfused by the stnes flying at them frm all sides, the bys ran int the building. 孩子们被从四面八方朝他们飞来的石头弄糊涂了,于是他们跑进了那 幢大楼里。
    ③ 表示条件,相当于一个条件状语从句。
    (If) Given a time machine, I will pay a visit t the future. = If I am given a time machine, I will pay a visit t the future.
    Given mre time and supprt, we culd have dne it better. = If we were given mre time and supprt, we culd have dne it better. 如果当时给我们更多的时间和支持,我们会做得更好。
    如果给我一台时光机,我会去未来看看。
    ④ 表示让步,相当于一个thugh / althugh引导的 让步状语从句。
    (Althugh) Defeated by his ppnent, he never gave up hpe. = Althugh he was defeated by his ppnent, he never gave up hpe.
    即使被对手打败了,他也不放弃希望。
    Attacked many times, the residents in Lndn didn’t give in. = Althugh they were attacked many times, the residents in Lndn didn’t give in.
    即使遭到多次袭击,伦敦居民也没有屈服。
    The girl left, fllwed by a little dg. =The girl left, and she was fllwed by a little dg.
    过去分词作方式、伴随状语,相当于and连接的并列分句。
    女孩离开了,后面跟着一只小狗。
    Fllwed by his wlf dg, the hunter walked slwly in the frest. = The hunter walked slwly in the frest and his wlf dg fllwed him.
    猎人在森林里慢慢地走着,身后跟着他的狼狗。
    ⑥ 表结果(相当于结果状语从句)
    He failed in the cmpetitin, blamed by his cmpanins. = He failed in the cmpetitin, s that he was blamed by his cmpanins.
    他在比赛中失败了。被他的同伴们指责。
    If we are given anther time, we will get better grades.
    =(If ) Given anther time,…
    去掉或保留_______; 去掉______;去掉______。
    状语从句如何改为过去分词作状语?
    过去分词作状语时,其前面可以带有相应的连词:when, thugh, althugh, as if, as thugh, if, unless, until, nce等。
    (When) Asked what had happened, his face turned red.
    (If) Given a time machine, I will pay a visit t the future.
    (Althugh) Defeated by his ppnent, he never gave up hpe.
    Unless invited, I wn’t attend the ball.
    过去分词所表示的动作,必须是逻辑主语所承受的和完成的动作。
    Written in a hurry, this article was nt s gd.
    因为写得匆忙,这篇文章不是很好。
    Fllwing the ld man, we went upstairs. =We fllwed the ld man and went upstairs. Fllwed by the ld man, we went upstairs. =We went upstairs and we were fllwed by the ld man.
    现在分词做状语,其逻辑主语与句子主语一致,且是主动关系。
    过去分词做状语,其逻辑主语与句子主语一致,且是被动关系。
    ____frm the tp, the stadium lks like a bird nest. A. Seeing B. Seen____ frm the space, the astrnaut can nt discver the Great Wall. A. Seeing B. Seen
    注意:选择现在分词还是过去分词,关键看主句的主语。
     若句子的主语和分词是被动关系,动作已经完成用V-ed; 若句子的主语和分词是主动关系,动作正在发生用V-ing。

    有些过去分词已用作形容词,常用于系表结构,作状语时不表被动动作而表状态。这样的过去分词及短语常见的有:seated (坐), hidden (躲), absrbed in (沉溺于), brn (出生), dressed in (穿着), tired f (厌烦), determined (保持决心)等。
    Determined t g t a tp university, he wrks hard n his study every day. 下定了决心要考上好大学,他每天刻苦学习。
    Tired f the city life, she desired t live in peace in the cuntry. 倦了城市的生活,她渴望在乡下平静的生活。
    v.-ed作状语时,否定形式为:否定词放在分词的前面。即 Nt/Never/Hardly + -­ed
    Nt asked, he tld it t them. 虽没人问,他却跟他们说了那件事。
    Althugh nt invited, he went t the party alne.虽然没被邀请,但是他还是独自去了派对。
