Nwadays the pllutin f the sea is becming an increasingly serius prblem. Hw can we reduce the pllutin in the sea and make the underwater envirnment better? Scientists in Nrway have invented an underwater rbt, which can help a lt.
The rbt is 45 kg in weight and uses special cameras t get 3D pictures. It can discver different kinds f pllutin at the bttm f the sea. It will help clean-up teams find the areas, where there is rubbish and then they can spend mst f their time and mney remving the mst harmful materials.
The researchers (研究员) put their wrk t the test in a bay (海湾) in the city f Bergen. First, the rbt swam up and dwn tw meters abve the seabed, cllecting infrmatin. Then a cmputer turned the infrmatin int a map, which shwed different rubbish materials in different clrs. Thusands f bjects were discvered in the bay, including bttles, metals, plastics, etc. “Bergen is a place where different industries cme tgether, and the city is quite ld, s there’s a huge amunt f rubbish,” said Trygve Olav Fssum, ne f the researchers. “We think the rubbish in the bay weighs 150 tns t 300 tns.” It is nt always pssible t remve everything.
