As a result, they are becoming selfish.Step 6 Ask students to check the whole text.(自我梳理:人物、时间、地点、事情)Characters in the passage (文章中的人物):1.The bus driver 2.Passengers on the bus 3.An old man lying on the side of the road 4.A woman next to the man 5.DoctorsThe time when the story happened (故事发生的时间):1. At 9:00 a.m. yesterday 2. Bus No. 26 was going along Zhonghua Road When the driver saw an old man lying on the side of the roadThe place where the story happened(故事发生的地点):1.On the side of the road 2.On the bus 3.In a hospitalThe things that happened in the story(故事中发生的事情):The bus driver1. Go along Zhonghua Road 2. See (saw) an old man 3. Stop (stopped) the car 4. Get (got) off and ask the woman what happened 5. Know (knew) he had to act quickly . 6. Tell (told) the passeners he must take sb to sw. 7. Expect that sb do sth 8. Only think (thought) about saving a lifeThe old man and the woman1. Lie ( lying. Lay ) on the road 2. Have a heart problem 3. Should go to the hospital 4. Is (was)saved by sb 5. Shout for helpThe passengers1. All agree to go with him.2. Wait for the next bus3. Help to move / get the man onto the bus. 4. Help othersStep 7 Ask students to learn languages points in the reading passage.1.Learn the new words and expressions : passenger/get off/to one’s surprise /agree to (do sth)/ trouble/get into trouble2.Learn the key and difficult sentences.(1)Bus No. 26 was going along Zhonghua Road when the driver saw an old man lying on the side of the road.句式分析:这是一个when引导的并列句,when的含义是“这时”,常组成句式: be (was/ were)doing when从句+一般过去时,意思是“正在/正要做某事,这时突然……”。be(was/ were)doing when从句+一般过去时,相当于句式be (was/ were)about to do sth. when从句+一般过去时;意思是“正在/正要做某事,这时突然……”(2)A woman was next to him, shouting for help.这是一个主系表的句子, A woman为主语, was是系动词,next to him是介词短语作表语。 shouting for help是现在分词作伴随状语。这句话相当于A woman was next to him and was shouting for help。(3)The bus driver, 24-year-old Wang Ping, stopped the bus without thinking twice. 这是一个主谓宾状的句子, The bus driver是主语, 24-year-old Wang Ping是主语的同位语,stopped是谓,语the bus 是宾语, without thinking twice(不假思索)是介词短语作状语。think twice 三思;再三考虑。(4)It’s sad that many people don’t want to help others because they don’t want any trouble. 这是一个主语从句,it 为形式主语,真正主语为后面的that从句。It is sad that 相当于评论性副词sadly, sadly放句首,用逗号与句子分开。类似句式还有It is important/ surprising/ strange/ clear/lucky/unlucky fortunate / unfortunate/…that 从句相当于评论性副词importantly / surprisingly / strangely / clearly/luckily/ unluckily/ fortunately/ unfortuately等, 副词放句首,用逗号与句子分开。(5)But to his surprise, they all agreed to go with him.句式分析:to one’s surprise令人感到惊讶的是=to the surprise of sb.该结构属于:to one’s +抽象名词(joy高兴/ disappointment失望/ regret后悔)可以使用much 或great来修饰,表示:令某人非常……的是;组成 much to one’s +抽象名词 / to one’s great +抽象名词 。句式分析:They all agreed to go with him.They 为主语,all为they的同位语;agree to do sth. 同意做某事(6)Thanks to Mr. Wang and the passengers, the man was saved by the doctors in time.句式分析:这是一个一般过去时被动语态的句子。Thanks to Mr. Wang and the passengers是介词短语作原因状语;thanks to 多亏了;由于;相当于because of/ as a result of。in time 及时;in time还可以表示“迟早;总有一天”。Step 8Homework1.Recite the important vocabulary and sentences.2.Retell the text with key words.
