    Period 4(Section B 2a-2e)设计说明  本节课通过说唱来复习所学习的有关家务的短语,增加趣味性。在阅读过程中,通过读前、读中和读后的各种教学活动,充分练习本节课重点;并且通过各个环节的阅读要求,培养学生的独立思考能力,增强求知欲。通过阅读两封信件,让学生学会体谅父母,帮助父母做适当的家务劳动,增强责任感,培养自己的独立意识。教学目标  1. 知识目标  (1)掌握单词和短语:stress,waste,provide,anyway,depend,develop,independence,fairness,since,neighbor,ill,drop,independent;in order to,depend on,take care of。  (2)阅读两封信件:掌握信件中的重点短语、句型。  2. 能力目标  (1)能根据所掌握词汇,快速捕获文章信息。  (2)通过阅读教学使学生掌握一些重点短语、句型,同时掌握略读的阅读方法。  3. 情感目标  学会体谅父母,帮助父母做适当的家务劳动,增强责任感,培养自己的独立意识。重点难点  1. 重点:  (1)本课时单词、短语及句型。  (2)掌握找出每段主题句的阅读方法。  2. 难点:  能够熟练掌握文章中重点词汇的用法,同时能够复述课文。教学准备  1. 准备与本课时有关的图片。  2. 准备录音机、磁带及多媒体课件。教学过程  Step 1 Warming up & Leading in  T:Good morning,boys and girls! First let’s have a chant.   T:Do you like doing chores at home?   S1:Yes,I do.   T:What do you often do to help your parents at home?   S1:I often sweep the floor,do the dishes and make the bed.   T:You are a good boy/girl. Thank you! Do you think kids should help out with chores at home?  S1:Yes,I think so.   T:(Walks to another student,and asks the same questions.)  ...  Step 2 Reading  T:Now look at the picture in 2b. How many people can you see?   Ss:Two people.   T:What are they doing?   S1:They are doing chores at home.   T:Do you often share the housework with your family?   S1:Yes,I do.   T:Well done.   Before reading  T:Do your parents think kids should help out with chores at home? Some parents think that their kids shouldn’t do chores at home. They think kids have enough stress from school,and doing chores is a waste of time. And they think that it’s the parents’ job to provide a comfortable environment at home for their children. But some parents disagree. They think that...  (New words:stress,waste,provide,anyway,depend,develop,independence,fairness,since,neighbor,ill,drop,independent.)  1. Read the new words.   2. Practice the new words by doing some exercises. Then check the answers. First let’s learn how to read it. Please look at Skimming.   1. 了解阅读策略:  略读意味着不用读每一个单词,而是快速浏览文章,领会文章大意。一般而言,通过标题可以知道文章的主题。对文章的首段和末段要多加注意,以便发现作者的观点。  (In the Skimming,make the students understand two phrases:“look quickly”“the first sentence”.)  2. Skim the letters. And choose “agrees” or “disagrees”.   (1)Ms. Miller disagrees young people should do chores at home.   (2)Mr. Smith agrees young people should do chores at home.   3. Skim the letters again. Find and underline Ms. Miller’s and Mr. Smith’s points about kids helping with housework. And then check the answers.   Ms. Miller’s points:Housework is a waste of their time. It is the parents’ job to provide a clean and comfortable environment at home for their children.   Mr. Smith’s points:It is important for children to learn how to do chores and help their parents with housework. The earlier kids learn to be independent,the better it is for their future.   4. Read the sentences above.   5. Read Letter 1 and fill in the blanks.   6. Read Letter 2 and fill in the blanks.   7. Read the instructions in 2c. Explain to the students how to do the activity.   8. Read the letters carefully,and fill in the chart in 2c.   9. Check the answers. At the same time,learn the language points in it.   10. Work in groups. After reading  Work on 2d.  1. Read the phrases in 2d and explain their Chinese meaning to the students. And find out the sentences in the letters.   2. Read the sentences aloud.   3. Do with it as homework. Make sentences with the phrases.   Work on 2e.  Discuss the questions with your partners.   1. One student reads the questions and explains them.   2. Work in groups of four. One student writes down the ideas. Then talk about the questions like this.   A:Do you agree with Ms. Miller or Mr. Smith?   B:Mr. Smith.   A:Why do you agree with Mr. Smith? Could you tell us?   B:Because...  Give them sentence structures.   Step 3 Group work  Talk about the chores in groups. Do you like doing chores at home? What chores do you like to do at home? What do you think of doing chores? Then make a report.   Make conversations like this:  A:Do you like doing chores at home?   B:Yes,I do.   A:What chores do you like to do at home?   B:I like to sweep the floor and do the dishes.   A:What do you think of doing chores?      B:I think doing chores is helpful. I should do my part in keeping our house clean and tidy.   Report it like this:In my group,we all like doing chores at home. Jim likes to sweep the floor and do the dishes. He thinks that doing chores is helpful. And he thinks he should do his part in keeping their house clean and tidy. Lucy...  Step 4 Cooperative inquiry  Discuss the following language points in groups and fill in the blanks.   1. waste 用作名词,意为“浪费”,常用于固定结构a waste of time,意为“浪费时间”。waste 还可作动词,意为“浪费”,waste time意为“浪费时间”。  He thinks doing chores is a waste of time.  他认为做家务就是浪费时间。  Don’t waste time. 不要浪费时间。  2. spend +时间+ on sth./doing sth. 意为“花费时间做某事”。  3. in order to意为“为了,目的是”,引导目的状语从句。  In order to catch up with the others,the girl works even harder. 为了赶上其他人,那个女孩学习更努力了。  4. There’s no need for sb. to do sth. 意为“对某人来说没有必要做某事”。  5. provide 作动词,意为“提供”。provide sth. for sb. /provide sb. with sth. 意为“为某人提供某物”。  The movie theater provides us with good service.   = The movie theater provides good service for us.   这家影剧院为我们提供好的服务。  6. mind + doing sth. 意为“介意做某事”。  7. It’s + adj. + for sb. to do sth. 中代词it仅为形式上的主语,真正的主语是to do sth.。  It’s necessary for you to explain(explain)things clearly.   对你来说,把事情解释清楚是必要的。  8. have no idea 意为“不知道,不了解”,相当于don’t know。  9. take care of 意为“照顾,照料”,take good care of意为“好好照顾”,后面可接名词或代词作宾语。take care of的同义短语有look after和care for。  10.“the +比较级...,the +比较级...”是英语中一个常用的句型结构,表示“越……,越……”。  The more he explained,the better we understood.   他解释得越多,我们就理解得越好。  Step 5 Summary  In this lesson,we have learned:  1. New words:stress,waste,provide,anyway,depend, develop,independence,fairness,since,neighbor,ill,drop,independent.   2. Phrases:in order to,depend on,take care of.   3. Reading:two letters.   Step 6 Homework  1. Finish 2d on page 23. Write one sentence with each phrase from the letters.   2. Try to retell the letters.   3. Write the new words in this lesson. 板书设计教学反思 Bed,bed,make the bed.
