Period 1 (Section A 1a-2d)设计说明 在学习1a之前,先复习简单数字的读法,再学习较大的有规律的数字,然后是较复杂的大数字,循序渐进地教会学生大数字的读法。这样做可以降低学生学习的难度,提高学生的学习兴趣。1a-1c是本单元的导入部分。在1a-1c的教学过程中,教师需要引导学生把学过的比较级和最高级的句式结构迁移到量的表达法上。2a-2c的重点是听说的教学,要求学生听懂大数字的表达,并明确听到的形容词比较级、最高级的不同表达句式,并能尝试运用听到的比较级、最高级结构进行问答。在让学生读2d时,首先可以用简笔画的方法教新单词,排除阅读障碍,提高学生兴趣。然后,设置问题引导学生理解对话,并帮助学生解决难题。最后指导学生分角色朗读,完成语言输出。教学目标 1. 知识目标 (1)掌握单词和短语:square,meter,deep,desert,population,Asia,tour,tourist,wall,amazing,ancient,protect,wide,man-made;feel free,as far as I know。 (2)掌握句型:①What is the highest mountain in the world? ②The Yangtze River is about 6,300 kilometers long and the Yellow River is 5,464 kilometers long. ③It’s a lot bigger than the population of the US. ④Did you know that China is one of the oldest countries in the world? ⑤As far as I know,there are no other man-made objects as big as this. 2. 能力目标 掌握大数字的读法和表示量的结构,能熟练掌握和运用单词square,meter,deep等来表达物体的长、宽、高、深和面积。 3. 情感目标 培养学生对大自然的热爱,以及对我们祖国的自豪感。重点难点 1. 重点: (1)掌握本课时单词、短语。 (2)掌握大数字的读法和表示量的结构。 2. 难点: 掌握大数字的读法和表示量的结构。教学准备 多媒体课件,录音机,磁带。教学过程 Step 1 Leading in First play a video of Qomolangma,then ask the following questions: —Do you know the mountain? —What’s its name? —How high is it? —It’s 8,844. 43 meters high. (write 8,844. 43 on the blackboard) —How do you read the number? Now,let’s learn the large numbers together. Step 2 Presentation 1. Have students read the small numbers flashed on the screen. 2. Teach the following numbers. (from the right to the left)The first comma means thousand;the second comma means million. 3. Practice reading the following numbers. 4. Teach the new words:square,meter,deep,desert. Step 3 Practice 1. Show the pictures in 1a on the screen. Ask students if they know these places. Then teach:Qomolangma,the Nile,the Caspian Sea,the Sahara. 2. Look through the chart. 3. Have students match the facts individually. 4. Check the answers. (1)Before playing the recording,have students read each sentence and predict the answers. (2)Play the recording and have them fill in the blanks with the numbers in the box. Step 5 Role-play 1. Presentation. (1)Draw some pictures on the blackboard to teach the new words and phrases:tour,tourist,wall,amazing,ancient,protect,wide,feel free,as far as I know. For example: T:Look at this picture. Can you guess the meaning of “protect”? Ss:保护。 (2)Practice reading the new words and phrases. (3)Check them. a. Students listen and repeat. 5. Students work in groups to role-play the conversation. As students work,move around the classroom offering language support. 6. Ask several groups to role-play the conversation. 7. Complete the passage from memory. The Great Wall If we are only talking about the parts from the Ming Dynasty,the Great Wall is about 8,850 kilometers long. This makes it the longest wall in the world. The ancient emperors built it to protect their part of the country. It’s quite tall and wide. There are no other man-made objects as big as this. The most famous part is Badaling,and it is part of the Ming Great Wall.
