Period 5 (Section B 3a-Self Check)设计说明 在复习完上节课所学知识后,利用一个猜谜游戏激发学生的兴趣,导入新课。呈现有关鲸的一些图片,引导学生通过看图讨论他们所知道的相关信息。还可以播放一些人类捕杀鲸的视频或保护鲸的公益广告。学生可以归纳出鲸更多的特点和生存现状。引导学生阅读3a中的单词和短语,并将它们填到表格中相关的问题后面。核对答案后,鼓励学生两人一组进行问答,要求学生用完整的句子回答,为后面的写作打好基础。在学生根据3a中的信息完成一篇关于鲸的说明文之后,分组制作海报,并选择部分学生展示所写的海报,让其他学生参与评价。 Self Check是检测学生对本单元重点语法的掌握情况,因此让学生独立完成活动之后,仅核对答案即可。教学目标 1. 知识目标 (1)掌握单词:whale,oil,protection,huge。 (2)完成Self Check。 2. 能力目标 通过罗列事实及数据,初步学习说明文的写作。 3. 情感目标 教育学生关爱动物,关爱自然,保护我们赖以生存的自然环境。重点难点 1. 重点: (1)通过罗列事实及数据,初步学习说明文的写作。 (2)检测学生对形容词原级、比较级、最高级的掌握以及程度副词的运用,总结本单元所学的语法。 2. 难点: 说明文的写作。教学准备 图片,多媒体课件。教学过程 Step 1 Leading in Retell the information about the pandas. Step 2 Presentation 1. A guessing game. They are huge animals. They live in the sea. They can jump high out of the water. They are very clever and also very friendly. What are they? Answer:Whales. T:Yes,they’re whales. They’re huge. But humans catch them for meat,fat and oil. The government should make rules on whale protection to protect them. Teach the new words:whale,huge,oil and protection. And check them. Complete the words according to the Chinese meaning. (1)鲸:whale (2)油;食用油;石油:o il (3)保护;保卫:protecti o n (4)巨大的;极多的:hu ge 2. Show some pictures of whales and ask students to brainstorm as a class about everything they know about whales. Write all their ideas about whales on the board without checking them. 3. Discuss the ideas that students disagree with or are surprised at as a class. Step 3 Practice 1. Read the words and phrases in 3a. 2. Look through the questions in the chart. Make sure the students understand the questions well. 3. Students complete the chart with their partners. They can also add in their own ideas. 4. Check the answers. Step 4 Writing 1. Make students write a paragraph about whales and why they need to be protected. Use the information in 3a. 2. Remind students about the posters they saw (and made) about volunteer work in UNIT 2. 3. Have students work in pairs or small groups to make posters that can be put up in a school,library,or other places frequented by the public,showing the ways that people can help save the whales. Step 5 Self Check 1. Work on Self Check 1. 2. Complete the chart. Answers: 3. Work on Self Check 2. Tell students to read the information,and then work by themselves. Check the answers.
