    寓言早在我国春秋战国时代就已经盛行。当时一些思想家把寓言当成辩论的手段。为了在政治主张上战胜对方,为了阐明自已的观点,互相责难,辩论,往往取材于古代神话、传说、民间故事或谚语。通过艺术加工,用鲜明生动的抽象的代替议论进行激烈的争辨斗争。 世界各国的寓言作品也很多。世界最早的寓言集是《伊索寓言》,其它比较著名的寓言集或寓言较集中的作品有《克雷洛夫寓言》、《列那狐的故事》《百喻经》《拉封丹寓言》 等。

    A fable is a fictinal stry abut animals, plants, frces f nature, etc. It always has a mral lessn.
    Mral teaches right and wrng, gd and bad.
    They are all fables.

He had nly ne axe, and he needed it t make his living. He sat dwn and began t cry. As he cried, a spirit appeared. She asked the man what was wrng. She listened t the wdcutter and felt srry fr him.But what culd she d t help?
    本句为过去进行时态,句子结构为“was/were+ding”,表示“过去某一时刻正在发生的事情”。
    get back意思是“找回;取回;恢复”,可以用get back sth.结构,也可以用get sth. back结构。
    make/earn ne’s/a living意为“谋生”。He had t make his wn living  when he was ten years ld.  
    while和as引导的时间状语从句的谓语是延续性动词;when引导的时间状语从句的谓语既可以是延续性动词,也可以是非延续性动词。
    Suddenly she came up with a great idea. The spirit dve int the lake and brught back a gld axe. “Is this the axe yu lst?” asked the gd spirit. The man lked at the gld axe, knwing it wasn’t his. Because he was hnest, he admitted t the spirit that it wasn’t his axe. S the spirit dve int the water again and brught back a silver axe. Once again, the man said that was nt his axe.
    dive int 投入;潜入I saw a rabbit dive int the hle.我看见一只兔子钻进洞里。
    bring back 带回;还回;使记起All library bks must be brught back befre June 30.
    admit表示“向某人承认”要搭配介词t。The student admitted his mistakes t his teacher.那个学生向老师承认了错误。admit t sb. that…意为“向某人承认……”。
    The spirit went dwn a third time and returned with the wdcutter’s ld axe. “That is the right ne! ” said the wdcutter.     “不定冠词+序数词”表示相对前一个而言的“又一,再一”。He has seen the film three times, but he wants t see it a furth time.那部电影他已看过三次,可他还想再看一次。“定冠词+序数词”表示按顺序排列的“第……次”。It is the fifthtime that I have met him.这是我第五次和他见面了。
    hnesty是hnest的名词形式,意为“诚实”;dishnest为hnest的反义词,意为“不诚实的”。
