Mst bagasse is burned. Often, it fuels lcal generatrs that pwer the mills, s it is nt wasted. But Zhu Hngli, a mechanical engineer at Nrtheastern University, thinks it can be put t better use. A bit f bagasse makes an excellent and bidegradable replacement fr the plastic used fr dispsable fd cntainers like cffee cups.
Previus attempts tended nt t survive cntact with liquids. But she thught she culd vercme that by mixing the sugar cane pulp（浆） with anther bidegradable material.
