Franck Curchamp f the University f Paris-Sud was interested in the idea f “charisma”(魅力) in animals. He wanted t knw: What species d peple cnsider charismatic? And what are the influences f being charismatic n ppulatins in the wild?
In a research published this mnth, Curchamp and ther researchers list the tp 20 charismatic species. Mst f the animals identified as charismatic are large mammals living n land. Cming in first place were tigers, fllwed by lins, elephants, giraffes, panthers, pandas, cheetahs, plar bears, wlves, and grillas. Hwever, at least half f the interviewees didn’t realize that five f the tp ten mst charismatic species are threatened. It is paradxical that we haven’t been able t prtect the species we care abut the mst.
The study als fund that we are flded with images f these creatures, even as they are becming fewer in the wild.
