The researchers reprted their findings in the British scientific publicatin Nature.
The mst recent Ice Age lasted frm abut 115,000 t 11,000 years ag. During this time, huge sheets f ice cvered much f Nrth America, Suth America, Eurpe and Asia.
"We have a lt f data abut this time perid because it has been studied fr s lng," said Jessica Tierney, a paleclimatlgist(古气候学家) with the University f Arizna, wh helped lead the study. "But ne questin science has lng wanted answers t is simple: Hw cld was the Ice Age?"
Accrding t the findings, the average Ice Age temperature wrldwide during this perid was abut 7.8 degrees Celsius(摄氏温度). It was apprximately 6 degrees Celsius clder than the average tday.
Atmspheric carbn dixide levels during the Ice Age were abut 180 parts per millin, which is very lw, the researchers said. Befre the Industrial Revlutin f the 1800s, levels rse t abut 280 parts per millin. Tday they are abut 415 parts per millin.
The researchers annunced plans t use their temperature calculatin methds t recreate warm perids in Earth's histry. "If we can recnstruct past warm climates, then we can start t answer imprtant questins abut hw the Earth reacts t really high carbn dixide levels..." Tierney said. This can help scientists expand their understanding f what future climate change might bring.
Tierney said that lking at infrmatin frm past climates is the nly way t find ut what truly happens when the Earth experiences lng cld r warm perids. "S, by studying them, we can better restrict what t expect in the future."

Slwly but surely, we're mving clser and clser t 5G wrld. Frm smart-hme security t self-driving cars, all the Internet-cnnected devices in yur life will be able t talk t each ther at lightning-fast speeds with reduced delay. Augmented reality glasses and virtual headset haven't yet brken the mainstream, but tech cmpanies are jyfully betting that these devices will eventually replace ur smartphnes. With 5G, that culd actually happen. This is ntable because cmpanies such as Apple are reprtedly develping AR glasses t assist ---r perhaps even replace --- smartphnes.
Ericssn stated at February's Mbile Wrld Cngress hw smart glasses culd becme faster and lighter with a 5G cnnectin, because instead f being weighed dwn with cmpnents, the glasses culd rely n hardware fr prcessing pwer.
But dn't get t excited. There's still a lt f wrk t be dne in the meantime including varius trials t make sure the radis play nicely with hardware and infrastructure cnstructin s 5G isn't cncentrated nly in big cities.
