While Wright cnsidered his avant-garde （前卫的） design fr the Arizna State Capitl Building t be a gift t the city, fficials felt therwise. With a price f $5 millin, t cstly, he was passed ver fr the prject.
In the case f the cliffside （悬崖边） Mrris Huse, it’s nt cmpletely clear why the family did nt g with Wright’s design. But, in examining his ideas fr the hme, it’s clear that Wright successfully cmbines the architecture and nature. The design uses runded frms that fit int the cliffs and merge the hme and the natural surrundings.
In 1947, he was asked t rebuild Ry Wetmre’s service statin. What Wright prvided was a futuristic design that included a ramp （斜坡） allwing a car t be displayed n the rf.
