They pick this reflected sund up thrugh their lwer jaw, and infrmatin n features like size and speed passes t their ears. Hwever, increase in human marine activity, as well as climate change, has resulted in the Arctic Ocean becming nisier, which means it’s mre difficult fr narwhals t rely n sund. Susanna Blackwell, wh studies the effects f underwater nise n marine animals, tld the BBC that there is nisier activity in the Arctic Ocean than ever because, as sea ice melts, new navigatin rutes are pening. And while icebergs breaking and creaking have been part f the cean sundscape fr hundreds f years, man-made nise is much harder fr animals t adapt t, particularly as these changes are s sudden.
Research published in Science Advances in 2023 recrded the reactins f narwhals t the simulated (模拟的) nises f il expeditins made by a patrl vessel (巡逻船). The scientists tagged and tracked the creatures and fund that, n hearing these sunds, they ended deep dives and stpped clicking, the echlcatin signal they use fr finding fd underwater. This is the same reactin narwhals have t rcas, wh hunt them, meaning human-made nise culd trigger the creature’s “threat buttn”.

This is the same reactin narwhals have t rcas, wh hunt them, meaning human-made nise culd trigger the creature’s “threat buttn”.
纵观全文,尤其是第一段中“Hwever, experts say sme ppulatins f narwhal culd be extinct by 2025, and it’s all because f nise pllutin. 所以A项“Survival f Narwhal threatened by man-made nise (人造噪音威胁独角鲸的生存)”是本文的最佳标题。故选A项。

根据前文“Getting things dne isn’t wrking all day at 100 miles an hur. 以及后文“And the fllwing tips can definitely help yu.

Try t be mre cnscius f what yur shallw tasks are, and give yurself permissin t blck them ut fr a while s yu can fcus n the imprtant tasks that require “deep wrk”. 故选A项。

Give yur mind the rest it’s earned.

根据前文“Time-management master Francesc Cirill says that fr every 25 minutes f intense cncentratin, yu shuld take five ff t d nthing at all, which gives the brain time t recver and keeps yur prductivity high.
