    2.没有绝对概念的字眼,如nly,never,all,abslutely等。

Have yu ever imagined traveling t a freign cuntry withut having t wrry abut the headache f cmmunicating in a different language?
In a recent Wall Street Jurnal article, technlgy plicy expert Alec Rss argued that, within a decade r s, we’ll be able t cmmunicate with ne anther via small earpieces with built - in micrphnes. That’s because technlgical prgress is extremely rapid. It’s nly a matter f time. Indeed, sme parents firmly hld the idea that this technlgy is appraching and they’re wndering if their kids shuld even learn a secnd language.
It’s true that an increase in the quantity and accuracy f the data laded int cmputers will make them cleverer at translating “N es buen drmir much” as “It’s nt gd t sleep t much.” Replacing a wrd with its equivalent (同义词) in the target language is actually the “easy part” f a translatr’s jb. But even this seems t be a discuraging task fr cmputers.
It’s s difficult fr cmputers because translatin desn’t--r shuldn’t--invlve simply translating wrds, sentences r paragraphs. Rather, it’s abut translating meaning. And in rder t infer meaning frm a specific expressin, humans have t interpret a mass f infrmatin at the same time.
Think abut all the related clues that g int understanding an expressin:vlume, gesture, situatin, and even yur culture. All are likely t cnvey as much meaning as the wrds yu use.
Therefre, we shuld be very skeptical f a machine that is unable t interpret the wrld arund us. If peple frm different cultures can ffend each ther withut realizing it, hw can we expect a machine t d better? Unless engineers actually find a way t breathe a sul int a cmputer, undubtedly when it cmes t cnveying and interpreting meaning using a natural language, a machine will never fully take ur place.
34.What is the authr’s attitude t the mdern technlgy?
    A.UnclearB.Objective
    C.OptimisticD.Negative.
根据第五段“Think abut all the related clues that g int understanding an expressin:vlume, gesture, situatin, and even yur culture. All are likely t cnvey as much meaning as the wrds yu use.”(想想所有与理解一个表情相关的线索:音量、手势、情境,甚至你的文化。

Over the past decade, pwerful new treatments have been develped t fight mst stubbrn cancers. Mst, hwever, are still being tested in s-called clinical trials, and getting yurself enrlled in ne takes sme ding.
Clinical trials are research studies n human patients t test the safety and effectiveness f new treatments. There are hundreds f clinical cancer trials under way, invlving thusands f patients. What mst peple dn’t realize is that the scientists wh cnduct these studies need test subjects almst as badly as the subjects need treatment, and that lately the scientists have been running shrt f willing participants. At a cnference n clinical trials held recently in Alexandria, Virginia, researchers trying t devise strategies fr signing up mre patients nted that ne f the reasns there has been s much prgress in treating pediatric(小儿科的)cancers in the US ver the past 20 years is that 60% f all children with cancer are enrlled in sme kind f trial. With adults, enrllment falls ff dramatically, t nly 2% t 3% f eligible patients.
Why is this? Partly it’s wing t patient miscnceptins. “Patients are cncerned if they enter a clinical trial that they may be part f the unlucky grup that gets the placeb r ‘dummy treatment’ and nt the real medicine,” says Dr. Bb Cmis, president f the Natinal Cancer Cperative Grups. They think the placeb grup get n treatment at all, when in act it gets whatever is cnsidered the best current standard f care.
Cst shuldn’t be a cnsideratin. Mst clinical trials are free t patients; sme even pay their subjects. Insurance cmpanies in the past have been reluctant t cver the nn-experimental part f the treatment, but they are starting t cme arund.
Nw it is true that research scientists dn’t always have the best bedside manner, and smetimes they unnecessarily keep patients in the dark. And the cnsent frms are ften s encrusted with medical jargn that sme patients jke.
28.What is the writer’s general attitude twards cancer recurrence?

“The change t the rad traffic law will permit fully autmatic driving,” says Dbrindt. It will put fully driverless cars n an equal legal fting t human drivers, he says.
Wh is respnsible fr the peratin f such vehicles is nt clear amng car makers, cnsumers and lawyers. “The liability(法律责任)issue is the biggest ne f them all,” says Natasha Merat at the University f Leeds, UK.
An assumptin behind UK insurance fr driverless cars, intrduced earlier this year, insists that a human “ be watchful and mnitring the rad” at every mment.
But that is nt what many peple have in mind when thinking f driverless cars. “When yu say ‘driverless cars”, peple expect driverless cars.” Merat says “Yu knw — n driver.”
Because f the cnfusin, Merat thinks sme car makers will wait until vehicles can be fully autmated withut peratin.
Driverless cars may end up being a frm f public transprt rather than vehicles yu wn, says Ryan Cal at Stanfrd University, Califrnia. That is happening in the UK and Singapre, where gvernment-prvided driverless vehicles are being launched.
That wuld g dwn prly in the US, hwever. “The idea that the gvernment wuld take ver driverless cars and treat them as a public gd wuld get abslutely nwhere here,” says Cal.

A.stp peple frm breaking traffic rules.B.help prmte fully autmatic driving.

根据第一段中“In my teens, there was nthing special abut me.(十几岁的时候,我没什么特别的)”可知,作者先说自己没有什么特别的,接着下文“My lder sister, Antia, is beautiful. My yunger brther, Tye, is a talent at the age 13.(我的姐姐Antia很漂亮。 故选A项。
根据倒数第二段中“Suddenly, Darwin std up and threw away all his bks, shuting ludly.(突然,Darwin站了起来,扔掉了所有的书,大声喊叫)”可知,Darwin突然莫名失控了。故选D项。
根据文章内容,结合文章最后两句“But t me, they are mre than wrds. They are my super pwer!(但对我来说,它们不仅仅是文字。
