Baleen whales (须鲸), such as the blue whale, are huge sea animals. “Baleen” describes a filter-feeding (滤食的) system in their muths thrugh which they can eat huge numbers f very small cean animals. But it appears nw that whales are nt the first sea animals t filter-feed.
Scientists recently reprted their findings abut the ancient remains f a sea animal called Hupehsuchus nanchangensis that lived 248 millin years ag, during the Triassic Perid.
