    When Jayce Crwder was in kindergarten, he began nticing that he lked different frm his classmates. They had tw hands. But he had nly ne.
    It started when ne by teased him. Jayce was in a bad md. He'd return hme in Des Mines, Iwa, with questins: Why am I different? Why me? Why? “He actually tld us that he was mad at lking s different frm thers," said his mther, Crtney Lewis. “That really hurt him."
    Lewis admitted she didn't knw what t d at that pint. Hw culd she prvide answers t her sn's questins when she had never fund thse answers herself?
    A few weeks later, Lewis came hme frm her jb and turned n the TV t a news stry abut Trashaun Willis, an eighth grader frm Washingtn, Iwa. The by, then 14, had becme an Internet star after psting vides f his slam clunks(扣篮),and, like Jayce, he was missing mst f his left arm. Lewis called Jayce in. He was shcked, staring at ne dunk after anther.
    At the time, it seemed that watching Trashaun wuld simply be an inspiring mment fr Jayce---he'd see a shining rle mdel with a seemingly similar brn disability. And had it stayed just that, Lewis wuld have been happy. But little did she knw that a family friend had already reached ut t the Des Mines Register, asking the newspaper t help set up a meeting with Trashaun t build Jayce‘s cnfidence.
    “It reassured me," said Lewis. “I knw in my heart that everything's ging t be OK. Trashaun has grwn up t be a wnderful kid. And I knw Jayce is t."
