A recent research suggests that artificial intelligence (AI) culd hld the ptential fr predicting sudden cardiac (心脏的) death and assessing an individual’s risk t ptentially prevent future deaths. This develpment may mark a nvel step twards preventin and glbal health strategies.
Prfessr Xavier Juven, lead authr f the study, said, “Sudden cardiac death, a public health burden, represents 10% t 20% f verall deaths. Predicting it is difficult, and the usual appraches fail t identify high-risk peple, particularly at an individual level. We prpsed a new apprach.”
The scientific team emplyed AI t analyze medical data btained frm registries and databases in Paris, France and Seattle. They examined recrds f 25,000 individuals wh had experienced sudden cardiac arrest and cmpared them with data frm 70,000 peple frm the general ppulatin. The matching prcess invlved age, sex and residential area. Using AI, the scientists created abut 25,000 persnalized health mdels t evaluate the data and identify individuals at high risk f sudden cardiac death. Additinally, they established a risk file fr each participant in the study.
The AI analysis was able t identify peple wh had mre than 90% f risk dying suddenly, and it can predict abut mre than ne-furth f all cases f sudden cardiac death. “We have been wrking fr almst 30 years in the field f sudden cardiac death predictin. Hwever, we did nt expect t reach such a high level f accuracy,” said Juven, wh is the funder f the Paris Sudden Death Expertise Center.
Juven added. “While dctrs have efficient treatments, the use f AI is necessary t detect in a given subject a successin f medical infrmatin registered ver the years. We hpe that with a persnalized list f risk factrs, patients will be able t wrk with their clinicians t reduce thse risk factrs and ultimately decrease the ptential fr sudden cardiac death.”
    8. What can be knwn abut sudden cardiac death?
    A. It is hard t predict and prevent.
    B. Researchers still can d nthing abut it.
    C. It accunts fr the highest percentage f all deaths.
    D. Old appraches can effectively identify its high-risk peple.
    9. What des paragraph 3 mainly talk abut cncerning the research?
    A. Its result.B. Its prcess.C. Its purpse.D. Its participants.
    10. Hw des Juven feel abut the Al analysis?

Engineers at the University f Waterl have discvered a new way t prgram rbts t help peple with dementia (痴呆) lcate medicine, glasses, phnes and ther bjects they need but have lst.
While the initial fcus is assisting a specific grup f peple, the technlgy culd smeday be used by anyne wh has searched high and lw fr smething they’ve misplaced.
“The lng-term impact f this is really exciting.” said Dr. Ali Ayub, a pst-dctral fellw in electrical and cmputer engineering. “A user can be invlved nt just with a cmpanin rbt but a persnalized cmpanin rbt that can give them mre independence.”
Ayub and three clleagues were struck by the rapidly rising number f peple cping with dementia. Many f these individuals repeatedly frget the lcatin f everyday bjects, which reduces their quality f life and places additinal burdens n caregivers.
Engineers believed a cmpanin rbt with an ccasinal memry f its wn culd be a game-changer in such situatins. And they succeeded in using artificial intelligence t create a new kind f artificial memry.
The research team began with a mbile user rbt, which has a camera fr feeling the wrld arund it. Next, using an bject-detectin system, they prgrammed the rbt t detect, track and keep a memry nte f specific bjects in its camera view thrugh stred vide. With the rbt capable f distinguishing ne bject frm anther, it can recrd the time and date bjects enter r leave its view. Researchers then develped a picture interface t enable users t chse bjects they want t be tracked and, after typing the bjects’ names, search fr them n a smartphne app r cmputer. Once that happens, the rbt can indicate when and where it last bserved the specific bject.
Tests have shwn the system is highly accurate. And while sme individuals with dementia might find the technlgy wrrying, Ayub said caregivers culd readily use it. Mving frward, researchers will cnduct user studies with peple withut disabilities, and then peple with dementia.
    12. What can the rbts d?
    A. Help make what peple need.B. Help lk fr what peple have lst.
    C. Lcate the lst peple with dementia.D. Play games with a specific grup f peple.

    A. A camera.B. A research team.
    C. A mbile user rbt.D. A system.
    14. What can the rbt reprt t the user?
    A. Rutes.B. Names.C. Shape and clr.D. Place and time.
    15. In which part f a website can we read the text?
    A. Art.B. Technlgy.C. Travel.D. Educatin.
