As I grew up, my grandma, wh I have been tld that I am s very much like, wuld say things such as, “that is nt a ladylike way t sit”, r “that is nt a wrd that ladies use”. My grandma is ne f the classiest, mst genuine, and mst gentle wmen that I knw. I try t be half the persn she is.
I have always cnsidered myself a “lady”. I pay clse attentin t my manners. I smile at strangers, ffer my seat t the elderly, and hld the dr pen fr the persn behind me. Hwever, I recently met a wman in passing that made me questin what I have been taught fr the last 21 years. The cnversatin we had was abut “girls these days” and hw they differ frm the way girls were in the past. She said that there was a big difference between a “lady” and a “wman”. I lked at her curiusly.
“A real lady des nt give her pinins r feelings: thse are wmen. And wmen these days always make the mistake f ffering their pinins, and feelings, and talking ut f turn,” I smiled at her plitely, wished her a pleasant evening.
Unlike mst cnversatins ne wuld have with a stranger, this ne stuck with me. It turns ut that I am nt a “lady”. But I have accepted that truth with my whle heart. I take great pride in my pinins, my brain, and the bravery in which I can stand up fr myself and the things that I believe in. I am this way, because I am a yung versin f my grandma. And I knw that she wuld express that she is “ladylike”. But, in reality, she is a strng, independent and smart wman.
With this, I wuld like t remind yung wmen that it is nt wrng t vice yur pinins, embrace yur beliefs, and be independent. Thrughut yur life, if smene cmes alng and quiets yur vice, makes yur pinins feel wrng, r take n ntice f yur feelings: smile, nd plitely, and keep ding what yu were ding anyway.

    12.答案:DECGB
解析:①空前讲“Many influencers and self-imprvement caches talk abut hw imprtant it is t have a grwth mindset and say it is smething we shuld try hard t achieve.(许多有影响力的人和自我提升的教练都在谈论拥有成长型思维模式有多么重要,还说这是我们应该努力获取的。)”,空后说“Here are a few ways yu can start training yur brain.(这里有一些你可以开始训练自己大脑的方式)”,由此可以推断出,空处应起到承上启下的作用。
②由上文中的“As Carl S. Dweck explains, ‘Genius is nt enugh; we need t get the jb dne.’(正如Carl S. Dweck所解释的,’天才是不够的;我们需要完成这项工作。’)”及下文中的“start fcusing n trying yur best, learning alng the way, and enjying the prcess(开始专注于尽你最大的努力,一路学习,并享受这个过程)”可知,这里强调努力的重要性。E项“最重要的是你是否尽了最大努力”承接上文,对上文的问题“At the end f the day, des it really matter hw intelligent yu are if yu get the jb dne?(一天结束时,如果你完成了这项工作,你有多聪明真的重要吗?)”
结合下文中的“But instead f seeing failure as a negative thing, see it as an pprtunity t learn smething(但与其把失败看作是一件消极的事情,不如把它看作是一个学习的机会。)”
④空前“After seven experiments with hundreds f children, we had sme f the clearest findings I’ve ever seen(在对数百名儿童进行了七次实验后,我们得到了我所见过的最清晰的发现)”讲Dweck在对数百名儿童进行了七次实验后有所发现。 根据下文“Children lve praise, especially t be praised fr their intelligence and talent. It really des inspire them, but nly fr the mment.(孩子们喜欢表扬,尤其是因为他们的智力和天赋而受到表扬。
⑤空前讲“If success means they’re smart, then failure means they’re stupid.(如果成功意味着他们是聪明的,那么失败则意味着他们是愚笨的。)”
    13.答案:A
A. sight视力;B. rder秩序;C. line线;D. mind大脑。根据前文“I heard a weak bark”以及根据but转折,可推知,此处是“听到声音,但是没看到人”之意。故选A项。

故填her。

故填but。
故填wh/that。
故填has entered。
