The 89-year-ld adventurer named Frrest Fenn, wh created the treasure hunt, annunced the news via his website.“I dn’t knw the persn wh fund it, but the pem in my bk led him t the precise spt,” Fenn wrte.“The treasure was cnfirmed by a phtgraph the lucky finder sent me.”
Frrest Fenn, the man wh started the hunt, lives in Santa Fe. He was a pilt in the Vietnam War and later accumulated(积累) his wealth as a dealer in art and antiques. Fenn was diagnsed(诊断) with cancer in 1988 and had planned t die peacefully in the wds with his treasure. But when his cancer became less serius, he changed his plan, eventually writing the pem that described his dream resting place, which is where he hid the treasure. The pem appeared in a memir called TheThrillftheChase. Fenn said that the chest wuldn’t be fund by accident; nly a treasure hunter wh crrectly interpreted the clues wuld find it.
