Psychlgists have defined nstalgia(怀旧) as self-cnscius, scially emtinal, bittersweet but mainly psitive. It develps ut f happy memries mixed with a lnging fr the past and the clse relatinships we had back then. Often, nstalgia invlves five senses. Fr example, the smell f autumn leaves might spark an intense lnging fr yur childhd hme.
Almst everyne experiences nstalgia, althugh its bject tends t vary thrughut life. As my clleague Julie Beck has written, nstalgia was riginally viewed as an emtinal disrder when it was first defined in the late 17th century. And, crucially, it ften ccurs when peple are experiencing negative mds r having bad experiences. Lneliness can be a trigger, as researchers fund in 2008. Anther is bad weather.
Hwever, despite its assciatin with negative emtins, nstalgia des nt cause r increase unhappiness. Rather, nstalgia is a defense respnse t unhappiness, ne that brings relief frm a negative md. Psychlgists writing in the Jurnal f Persnality and Scial Psychlgy in 2006 fund that stirring nstalgia in experiments strengthened peple’s scial bnds, bsted their psitive feelings abut themselves, and imprved their md. Similar research has shwn that when peple feel nstalgia, it can fire their sense f life’s meaning, lwer an existential(存在主义的) reactin t the idea f death, increase spirituality, and raise ptimism.
Schlars aren’t sure exactly why nstalgia wrks; sme have inferred that recalling happy memries strengthens “valued aspects f the self” in situatins when we might therwise feel Inely r unwrthy. Either way, its emtinal intensity allws the jy f the past t verpwer the unpleasantness f the present, a little escapism that helps get us thrugh the bad times.
    32. What d the psychlgists think f nstalgia?
    A. Always painful. B. Primarily psitive.
    C. Seldm intense. D. Usually uncnscius.
    33. Why is the authr’s experience mentined in paragraph 2?
    A. T shw the bjects f nstalgia change with age.
    B. T illustrate annying music ften leads t nstalgia.
    C. T highlight the yung are mre likely t be nstalgic.
    D. T demnstrate nstalgia has an impact n emtins.
    34. In which situatin may peple easily feel nstalgia?
    A. Attending a lively class. B. Engaging in a family reunin.
    C. Staying alne in an empty rm. D. Jining in a jyful birthday party.
    35. What may be a benefit f nstalgia?

    My fellw students,
Hw t review what we’ve learned mre efficiently? My suggestins are as fllws.
Firstly, having a clear utline f what will be cvered in each review stage wuld be helpful fr us t make the mst f ur time. Secndly, we can better stre infrmatin if we are engaged in activities that allw us t put what we’ve learned int practice. Lastly, we can take advantage f nline resurces and tls that can help us t learn and practice English in an effective way.
That’s all, thanks fr all f yu! Wishing us all the best f luck in the upcming cllege entrance exam!
    第二节
Alicia felt saddened by the sight, but Le saw an pprtunity. “What if we rganized a cmmunity art prject t restre the mural?” Le suggested, his eyes shining with excitement. Alicia’s face lit up. “That’s a fantastic idea! Let’s d it.” They quickly gt t wrk, gathering supplies and recruiting vlunteers frm the art club and the schl. The cmmunity respnded enthusiastically, and sn they had a team f eager helpers ready t restre the mural t its frmer glry.
The cmmunity art prject was a huge success. Peple f all ages and backgrunds came tgether, united by their lve fr art and their desire t beautify their surrundings. Alicia and Le std back t admire their wrk, feeling a sense f pride and accmplishment. The mural was mre than just a painting; it was a symbl f unity and resilience, prving what culd be achieved when peple came tgether fr a cmmn purpse.

    Text 10
Welcme t my stry f transfrming a drm rm idea int a successful startup.
As an educatin majr, I’ve always been keen t balance my academics with my passin fr technlgy and a deep-rted interest in starting my wn business. My jurney began by identifying a cmmn issue amng my classmates — the need fr affrdable, high-quality study tls. This led me t develp an app called “StudyMate,” a platfrm that ffers custmized learning resurces.
Initially, btaining financial supprt was a challenge. I presented t varius investrs, but the breakthrugh came frm a university g rant prgram. Determinatin played an imprtant rle. I als fcused n building a strng team, bringing tgether individuals with diverse skills and insights. We launched “StudyMate” during my secnd year in cllege, starting small but gradually expanding ur user base thrugh campus events and scial media marketing.
The app’s success didn’t happen vernight. It required cntinuus innvatin, adapting t changing student needs, and cmbining feedback. My advice t start-up funders? Identify a familiar prblem, vercme challenges, and remain adaptable. Yur idea might just becme the next big thing.
