Frederick Banting hated schl. Having grwn up n a farm near Allistn, Ontari, Fred was a gd wrker but felt uncmfrtable and unaccepted in a twn schl. In 1920, Fred happily entered a prly equipped labratry and was given a yung assistant named Charles Best. If a husehld held at least 80 bks, then participants went n t display the average rate f literacy and numeracy (认字和计算).
