My 10-year-ld sn and tw friends attended a 2-hur fantastic basketball camp n Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A few minutes befre the sessin ended, there was a shting cntest. Only a few kids were chsen t cmpete, and my sn was nt ne f them. The cntest winners received prizes and recgnitin, as did a few kids chsen as “all-stars” fr effrt, skill and participatin. Again, my sn was nt selected.
My sn was struggling t deal with his disappintment.
At the camp, he played a basketball game with kids he had never met, guarded them fiercely and tk shts easily against them. As his mm, I was thrilled that he spent the day withut his iPad. All in all, the day felt wnderful. The last thing I wanted was fr these awards t ruin the experience.
I decided t simplify it fr him. I did the math and figured ut the shting cntest and awards were abut 6% f the ttal camp. The rest f the camp, the parts that he enjyed, were 94% f the day. Even thugh the kid lves math, it was hard fr him t see the cntests and awards as a small part f his day.
My sn nce tld me abut a negative situatin that played ut at recess(课间休息). The way he explained it felt like the disagreement lasted hurs, but it turns ut it was nly the last few minutes f recess.
Nw is the time fr me as the parent t help my kids think mre psitively. If my sn leaves a half-day camp and mst f the day was great —that’s a win. If ur family is able t g t Flrida ver winter break and enjy time tgether, away frm the everyday headaches, that’s als a win. We can acknwledge the aspects that disappint us, as lng as we are willing t then fcus n the bigger picture.
It starts with me and my husband. Our kids will mdel the behavir we shw. They need t see us thinking psitively and nt hyper-fcusing n the negative 6%.
24.Why did the authr’s sn becme s disappinted?
A.He spent the day withut his iPad.B.He missed ut n a basketball cntest.
C.His mther didn’t turn up in a cntest.D.He didn’t gain awards in a shting cntest.
25.What is the authr’s purpse in citing thse figures in Paragraph 4?
A.T help her sn t think psitively.B.T aruse her sn’s interest in math.
C.T emphasize the disappinting aspects.D.T simplify the prcess f the shting cntest.
26.What will the authr d next prbably?
    A.D the math.B.Set an example.
    C.Start a prject.D.Learn frm ther parents.
27.What can be cncluded frm the text accrding t the authr?
A.Practice makes perfect.B.Every cin has tw sides.
C.The bigger picture matters.D.Adversity makes a wise man.

The neurtransmitter dpamine(多巴胺) is calling frth a lt f panic these days. Accrding t bks, articles and scial media psts, ur urge fr a quick dpamine hit is why we desire ckies and spend t much time n Instagram. If we keep giving in t these desires, as the principle ges, we’ll never be able t stp urselves.
Scientists wh study dpamine say these cncerns have been blwn ut f prprtin. They “are nt necessarily based n actual science f what we knw abut dpamine,” said Vijay Nambdiri, an assistant prfessr f neurlgy(神经学) at the University f Califrnia, San Francisc.
In the 1990s, scientists realized that dpamine is mre clsely related t the expectatin f a reward than t its receipt. Dpamine causes the wanting f smething and the mtivatin t g and get it, nt the enjyment f it. “What we think it maybe des is smething like desire,” said Talia N. Lerner, an assistant prfessr f neurscience at Nrthwestern University.
Sme rewarding behavirs can cause prblems in peple’s lives. Activities like gambling and playing vide games can lead t patterns f behavir similar t thse seen in substance use disrder (SUD)—namely, cntinuing the activity despite severe negative cnsequences.
But that is the exceptin, nt the rule. “Fr sme peple, yes, this is a prblem,” Dr. Lerner said. “It’s nt a prblem fr mst peple. We can functin in the wrld and enjy this reward-rich wrld.” As with mst things related t health, the key is nt ging extreme. And while dpamine is invlved in addictin, t say that it’s nly dpamine is an versimplificatin. In fact, experimental attempts t treat addictin by transfrming dpamine activity in the brain haven’t wrked.
“There’s nt necessarily a healthy r unhealthy way t use dpamine,” Dr. Lerner said. “It’s just abut learning. And yu can always learn smething gd, yu can always learn smething bad.” Or, as Dr. Lerner put it, “dpamine is ur friend, nt just ur enemy.”
28.Which f the fllwing is clsest t “blwn ut f prprtin” in Paragraph 2?
    A.Neglected.B.Overstated.C.Justified.D.Unfunded.
    29.What is knwn abut SUD?
    A.It is a rewarding behavir.B.It leads t final enjyment.
C.It means an addictive activity.D.It is a disease caused by abusing.
30.What is Dr. Lerner’s advice n treating dpamine?
A.Treating it in a reasnable way.B.Fighting against it like an enemy.
C.Changing its activity in the brain.D.Enjying the rich reward it brings.
31.What can be a suitable title fr the text?
    A.Dpamine, a receipt f jy.B.Dpamine, a severe addictin.
    C.Dpamine, a desire fr a reward.D.Dpamine, an ver-cncerned matter.
    D
What time is it n the mn?
Since the dawn f the space age, the answer has been: It depends. Fr decades, lunar missins have perated n the time f the cuntry that launched them. But with several lunar explratins heading fr the launchpad(发射台), the Eurpean Space Agency(ESA) has believed the current system unsustainable and is cnsidering giving the mn its very wn time zne.
The main bjective f establishing a universal timekeeping system fr the mn is t streamline cntact amng the varius cuntries and entities, public and private, which are crdinating trip s t and arund the mn.
The M1 lunar lander built by the Japanese cmpany Ispace is set t arrive n the mn in April. Last year, China cmpleted cnstructin f its wn space statin and previusly suggested that Chinese astrnauts wuld be n the mn by 2030.These missins will nt nly be n r arund the mn at the same time, but they will ften be interacting as well. Fr all thse interactins t happen smthly, the missins will need t perate n a standardized time.
At the same time, the internatinal team lking at establishing a lunar time zne is debating whether a single rganizatin shuld set and keep time n the mn. Clcks run faster n the mn than n Earth, gaining abut 56 micrsecnds each day. The exact difference depends n the psitin f the clck and whether it is in rbit r n the lunar surface.
Anyhw, effrts are being made t develp a base and supprt human habitatin n the mn. The gal f setting a universal timekeeping system is t imprve cperatin acrss all space agencies. The effrt is part f a larger prject t create a cmplete cmmunicatin and navigatin system fr the mn. The internatinal space agencies will need t be prepared t settle n a time zne befre the prper time zne can be identified, and a thrugh research study is required fr this.
32.Why is the ESA cnsidering giving the mn its wn time zne?
A.The present time system is regarded as ineffective.
B.The time n the mn is changing with the space age.
C.The M1 lunar lander is set t arrive n the mn in April.
D.Lunar missins have perated n the mn’s wn time zne.
33.Hw des the writer develp Paragraph 4?
    A.By quting experts.B.By giving examples.
    C.By listing statistics.D.By making cmparisns.
34.What is presented abut setting a time zne in Paragraph 5?
    A.The plan.B.The cause.C.The future.D.The challenges.
35.What is the prbable attitude f the authr twards setting a standardized time zne?
    A.Indifferent.B.Dubtful.C.Objective.D.Critical.
