    Last year, I started the jurney f being a remte prduct designer. The thught f a flexible schedule, a cmfrtable hme ffice, and the escape frm the crwded public transprt was incredibly appealing. The first few weeks were filled with a lng-lst feeling f freedm.

    Fr the study, researchers cmpared expectatin versus their actual experiences fr a ttal f 259 participants acrss six experiments t measure hw much peple enjyed being free frm distractin.
    One experiment asked participants t predict hw much they thught they wuld enjy sitting alne withut ding anything else fr 20 minutes. Peple enjyed sitting alne with their thughts far mre than they predicted, researchers said.
    “Humans have a striking ability t immerse themselves in their wn thinking,” said study lead authr Aya Hatan f Kyt University in Japan. “Our research suggests that individuals have difficulty appreciating just hw engaging thinking can be,” Hatan cntinued. “That culd explain why peple prefer keeping themselves busy with devices and ther distractins, rather than taking a mment fr reflectin and imaginatin in daily life.”
    Researchers said their findings were cnsistent alng several variatins f the experiment. One experiment, fr example, had participants sit in a dark area with n visual stimuli(刺激物).
