This leads t well-runded training and sets WriteGirl apart frm ther rganizatins.
A typical exercise at WriteGirl is mic and rant, a 30-secnd sessin befre writing fr each girl. As a vehicle fr teens t get their ideas ut, it empwers girls t explre anything meaningful t them. "Nt the flwery language, r rather, cmplicated expressins that sund skillful, but mre f the natural, this is what I'm thinking and what I'm feeling." Taylr said.
Sansa's mentr Danyella Wilder is attracted by the lng-term nature f mentring at WriteGirl. Wilder wishes she had a prgram like this herself when she was 15. It is William Shakespeare, the great ciner, wh is given credit fr the wrd. Crilanus, ne f his characters, cmpares ging int exile(流放)t a "lnely dragn" retiring t his cave. He was talking abut a physical state: smene wh was lnely was simply alne. Then, thanks t the Rmantic pets, the wrd tk n emtinal meanings. Lneliness became a cnditin f the sul. Fr William Wrdswrth, wh famusly "wandered lnely as a clud", the natural wrld ffered an escape frm negative feelings f lneliness—a hst f flwers culd prvide "cheerful cmpany". Tday, lneliness is ften seen as a serius public-health prblem, creating the feeling f discnnectin.
In his bk Slitude, Netta Weinstein, a psychlgy prfessr wnders the rewards f time spent alne. He begins with an accunt f stries f slitude created by figures such as Michel Mntaigne, a writer, and Edward Hpper, a painter. Netta then draw n labratry wrk, interviews and surveys t clarify hw being alne really affects the human mind.
It is cmmn t treat lneliness and slitude as synnyms(同义词), but they are nt. The authr suggests that what is negatively described as ne state can be psitively expressed as the ther. Lneliness, ften perceived as negative, can ptentially be transfrmed int a psitive experience f slitude. T this end he emphasizes hw being alne can help restre peple and ffers practical advice. In a nisy wrld, he argues, peple shuld make time t be alne, away frm attentin-grabbing mtives.
The bk's interviewees mstly regard a lack f cmpany as a cntributr t autnmy. But this depends n whether slitude is desirable r nt. Enfrced slitude, such as that experienced by prisners, typically leads t nthing but suffering. Elective slitude, by cntrast, affrds space fr self-reflectin. It can pen the dr t "peak experiences" such as wnder, harmny, and happiness. In a highly-cnnected digital age, hwever, many readers d nt fancy their chances f ever taking a lng enugh break t have such experiences.
    28. Hw des paragraph 1 intrduce the cncept f lneliness?

    A. The varius terms f slitude. B. The scietal impact f slitude.
    C. The lng-standing histry f slitude. D. The psychlgical benefits f slitude.
    30. Netta describes the state f lneliness as .
    A. stressful B. essential C. changeable D. never beneficial
    31. What des Netta mst prbably agree with accrding t the last paragraph?

Rbts have lng been drawing inspiratin frm animals, with the creatin f rbt dgs r snake-shaped rbts. And yet, the field f rbtics is far less enthusiastic abut the ther kind f living things—plants. Barbara Mazzlai, an Italian rbticist wes this t a miscnceptin abut plant behavir: that they cannt mve r think. "It's nt true at all," she says. T challenge this view, Dr Mazzlai and her team recently launched a machine called "FilBt", a rbt based n a climbing species.
T survive, a climbing plant must switch between several different behavirs. In frest envirnments, it must first grw ut f the sil and travel alng the grund in search f a supprt t hld nt, such as a nearby tree. Once a supprt is lcated, thugh, the plant fixes itself arund the bject and then grwing twards the light. T chse the best angle t grw upwards, a climbing plant uses its shts(芽)t receive infrmatin abut light and gravity.
FilBt has sensrs n its main sht. It can 3D-print its bdy with plastic and grw at a cntrllable rate. These functins, researchers fund, enabled FilBt t crss gaps, and find things t attach t. The lack f heavy n-bard cmputing device means that it is light and requires minimal care, while its slw pace means that it desn't disturb things arund it, making it pssible t mve thrugh a cmplex, unseen envirnment, r mnitring disaster sites.
Fr nw, FilBt is still being tested. Its tendrils(卷须)have nt left the labratry. Still, it has already been emplyed in decnstructing plant behaviur. Fr example, it was lng assumed that climbing plants find their supprts by grwing twards shade, thugh the exact mechanism was unclear. FilBt culd imitate this behaviur by detecting far-red light, which is typical f shaded areas, prviding clues t hw plants d it.
Dr Mazzlai hpes that such prjects will inspire ther rbticists t take their cues frm plants and develp cmpletely new technlgies.
    32. What des the miscnceptin abut plants in the field f rbtics fcus n?
    A. Their shapes. B. Their diversity.
    C. Their bdy language. D. Their capabilities.
    33. What is an advantage f FilBt?
    A. It mves quickly. B. It has a slid metai bdy.
    C. It adapts t different envirnment. D. It is attached t huge cmputers.
    34. What is paragraph 4 mainly abut?
    A. The limitatins f FilBt. B. The current use f FilBt.
    C. The cmpnents f FilBt. D. The unique feature f FilBt's design.
    35. Which f the fllwing is a suitable title fr this text?
    A. A Rle Mdel fr Rbtics Research B. A Glimpse int the Wrld f Rbtics
    C. A Plant-Inspired Innvatin in Rbtics D. A Misunderstanding f the Plant Kingdm

My gift fr Jenny was a pht f ur team, with everyne applauding her fr taking first place. Gradually, ur teammates shwered each ther with encuraging wrds and gifts. "T ur captains, yu are the rck!" Wrds like this eased the tensin and warmed ur hearts. Jenny culdn't hld back her tears any mre. "Let's make it tgether, as a team!" she said, handing me a drawing f us tgether.
The day f the turnament arrived. Jenny std beside me, a lk f reslve n her face. When the game began, the seven f us gave it ur all, with Jenny leading the charge, inspiring us t push harder. S clse were we that ur hearts seemed t beat tgether. Nt surprisingly, Jenny lifted us t the champinship. As the final whistle blew, we erupted in cheers. We really made it as a team. But deep dwn, I knew we were mre than a team—we were a family, with lve and understanding, where everyne was valued!
