put up the Snellen chart (an eye chart) n a wall, and began ur wrk.
Yung and ld peple came frm many f the surrunding twns. Mst had never received an eye exam befre. They waited fr hurs patiently in
the sun, never cmplaining. If we culd help them ut, their thankfulness fr a simple pair f glasses was verwhelming. Sme nly left with eye drps r
sunglasses, and even these peple expressed their gratitude sincerely. All f them were very generus with blessings and smiles. We heard ver and ver
frm peple wh knew their eyes needed help but they had nt gne t a dctr because it was t expensive, r had nt gt the glasses they needed
fr the same reasn.
It’s s easy t verlk hw much difference the vlunteers’ small actins can make t the lives f peple in Guatemala. The glasses in my
cuntry are s easily available, but t peple in Guatemala, they are nt.
As thse wh culd give them a hand, we watched their lives change. What a gift sight is — and what a difference being able t see clearly makes!
