形容词作状语的情况,表示 原因、方式、伴随等,相当于非谓语动词being + adj.省略being。例如:
Tired f sleeping n the flr (=Being tired f sleeping n the flr), a yung man in Teheran saved up fr years t buy a real bed. 德黑兰的一个年轻人由于对睡地板感到厌倦,于是积蓄多年买了一张真正床。(表原因)
一、形容词或形容词短语可以作状语,表示原因。 这种状语一般位于句首,有时也可位于句中。
Overjyed, he rushed ut f the huse.Much interested, he agreed t give it a try.Afraid f difficulties, they prefer t take the easy rad.Unable t affrd the time, I had t give up the plan.
二、形容词或形容词短语可以作状语,表示行为方式或伴随状况,其逻辑主语是句子的主语。例如:
He was lying in bed, awake, listening t the music. 他躺在床上,毫无睡意,静静听着音乐。
Inevitably yu arrived at yur destinatin almst exhausted.一旦抵达目的地,你总是疲惫不堪。
三、形容词或形容词短语可以作状语,表示时间或条件相当于时间或条件状语从句。这种状语通常位于句首,也可位于句末。例如:
Ripe, these apples are sweet. 这些苹果熟了,味道很甜。
Enthusiastic, they are quite cperative.
他们热心时是很愿意合作的。
=When / If these apples are ripe, they are sweet.
=When / If they are enthusiastic, they are cperative.
四、形容词或形容词短语可以作让步状语。这种状语常由连词 and或r 连接的两个或两个以上的并列形容词构成相,一般位于句首,有时也可位于句中。例如:

形容词作状语在写作中的运用
1. 她急切而兴奋地挥动着她的黄色上衣,想引起别人的注意。2. 他抓住我的双手,说不出话来。3. 她失望了,回到家,不断地对自己生气。
4. 珍妮坐在那里,惊愕得说不出话来。
Eager and excited, she flagged her yellw bluse, trying t attract thers’ attentin.
He grabbed my hands, unable t say anything.
