Scientists have lng been interested in the effects f learning an instrument n the brain. T explre this interesting subject, Alicja Olszewska and her team frm the Nencki Institute f Experimental Bilgy in Pland carried ut a study with 24 peple learning the pian ver 26 weeks. After 1, 6, 13, and 26 weeks f training, the researchers used functinal magnetic resnance imaging (功能性磁共振成像) t watch the participants' (参与者的) brain activity while they tried t play the increasingly difficult pieces.
