A new app will sn help mre than 50,000 Israeli students learn English thrugh ppular music.
“There is s much research ut there that shws hw music can help students learn,” says Michael Peled, funder and CEO f Singit. “Getting kids t interact (互动) with wrds in real life thrugh music is a very useful learning tl, and we are finding that it als wrks fr dyslexic (朗读困难的) and special educatin students.”
Students can listen n their phnes r cmputers t music frm a sea f sngs and fllw alng with the lyrics a n the screen. When they see a wrd that they dn’t recgnize, they can click (点击) the wrd. With the help f AI and Machine Learning technlgy, Singit ffers ther sngs with the wrds they didn’t knw. After hearing the sng, students are given a test that tests them fr the wrds they clicked n. Meanwhile, teachers can send students custmized grammar tests.
“We wrk with a cmpany called Lyric Find that prvides mre than five millin sngs. Mst schls wn’t want t have many types f sngs due t educatinal cnsideratins, but that will still leave mre than 100,000 sngs they can hear,” Peled says.
“The first versin (版本) f the app we built in 2017 was bad, but by 2019, we had a new versin, and we tested it thrughut 2020,” Peled says. Pilt tests shw that the app increased students’ interactin with the English language by 62%. “Singit was recently recgnized by the Ministry f Educatin.
