Sme new cmets have been discvered accidentally by amateur (业余的) astrnmers. Surprisingly a few bright cmets have been discvered with the naked eye (肉眼) by members f the general public. Hwever, a great number f cmets are fund by cmet hunters carrying ut telescpe searches f chsen areas f the night sky.
As the mvement f all cmets is directed arund the Sun and because these bdies brighten as they mve twards the Sun, there is a greater pssibility fr the discvery f a new cmet in the skies twards the Sun rather than away frm the Sun's directin. This means that searches shuld be put n the western sky after evening light and n the eastern sky befre mrning light.
Frm the astrnmical pint there is n time during the year which is the best fr the discvery f new cmets. A search can be dne at any time prviding there is n bright Mn.
Studies dne n the discvery cnditins f cmets discvered befre shw that mre cmets have been discvered in the mrning sky than in the evening sky. Thus the smart cmet hunter shuld make sure that mrning activity receives as much if nt mre attentin than any evening effrt.
In recent times, the use f advanced CCD technlgy t discver bjects clse t the Earth will in the future greatly reduce the chances f new cmets being fund with small telescpes. An example f the new technlgy is the very successful LINEAR prgram perating in New Mexic, Hwever, until a similar system is based in the suthern half f the Earth there will cntinue t be chances fr the discvery f new cmets which cme frm the suth.
    8.What are cmet hunters advised t d?
    A. Lk away frm the Sun.
    B. Stay where there's bright light.
    C. Face the western sky in the daytime.
    D. Turn t the east in the early mrning.

“Regrets, I’ve had a few. But then again, t few t mentin,” Frank Sinatra chanted in his 1969 hit “My Way”. The sng’s idea is attractive: that anyne can just declare what’s dne is dne and mve n. Sme take the declaratin a step further and claim they have n regrets at all. Whether a bast r an actual attitude, “n regrets” suggests that life can and shuld be lived withut lking thrugh the rear-view mirrr.
Easier said than dne, thugh. In 2020, authr Daniel H. Pink launched the Wrld Regret Survey, the largest ever survey n the tpic. With his research team, Pink asked mre than 15,000 peple in 105 cuntries, “Hw ften d yu lk back n yur life and wish yu had dne things differently?” 82% said regret is at least an ccasinal part f their life; rughly 21% said they feel regret “al1 the time.” Only 1% said they never feel regret.
If yu are f the “n regrets” type, yu might think that all this regret is a recipe fr unhappiness. But that isn’t the case. True, being verwhelmed by regret is indeed bad fr yu. But ging t the ther extreme may be even wrse. T rid yurself f regrets desn’t free yu frm shame r srrw; it leads yu t make the same mistakes again and again. T truly get ver ur guilt requires that we put regret in its prper place.
As uncmfrtable as it is, regret is an amazing cgnitive (认知) achievement. If tday yur relatinship with yur partner has sured, yur regret might mentally take yu back t last year. Yu wuld remember yur being mean and sensitive, and then imagine yurself shwing mre patience, being kind instead f hurtful at key mments. Then yu wuld fast-frward t tday and see hw yur relatinship culd be prgressing instead f languishing.
But regret desn’t have t be left unmanaged. The trick is t acknwledge it and use it fr learning and imprvement. Yu can be hnest with yurself abut what went wrng and use that knwledge t enjy better relatinships in the future.
12.What shuld we d if we have had a bitter quarrel with a clse friend accrding t Frank Sinatra?
    A. Attract mre peple t yur argument.
    B Send him/her a letter f aplgy.
    C. Bast abut being mre reasnable.
    D. Frget abut it and just let it g.

    A. We can d nthing abut regret.
    B. Unhappiness results frm regret.
    C. Ignring regrets is missing the pprtunity t imprve.
    D. Ridding yurself f regrets helps free yu frm srrw.
14.What des the underlined wrd “languishing” in paragraph 4 mst prbably mean?
    A. Imprving.
    B. Healing.

Whether it invlves listening t music r cmpsing music, the calming effect that music prduces further imprves yur heart’s health by supprting it thrughut the healing prcess.
④根据本段首句“Music can reduce anxiety and depressin.
⑤上文“Self-expressin and cmmunicatin are an imprtant part f the human experience, especially when it cmes t basic emtinal and mental health needs.

    32.答案:whse;makes;highly;frm;be linked;belnging;but;t give;persnal;emtinal
vary frm persn t persn“因人而异”。
