I ask every student I interview fr admissin t my institutin, Pitzer Cllege, the same questin, “What d yu lk frward t the mst in cllege?” I was amazed and delighted recently when a student sat acrss frm me at a Starbucks in New Yrk City and replied, “I lk frward t the pssibility f failure.” Of curse, this is nt hw mst students respnd t the questin when sitting befre the persn wh can make decisins abut their academic futures, but this yung man tk a risk.
“Yu see, my parents have never let me fail,” he said. “When I want t take a chance at smething, they remind me it’s nt a safe rute t take.
