Researchers at the Internatinal Agency fr Research n Cancer (IARC) fund evidence that drinks at temperatures abve 65 degrees Celsius, when swallwed, can cause cancer f the esphagus (食道). In develped cuntries, health experts have linked esphageal cancer t smking and alchlic drinks. Hwever, this frm f cancer is mre cmmn in areas where peple drink beverages at very high temperatures.
In Eurpe and the United States, many peple drink cffee and tea at temperatures arund 60degrees Celsius. And they ften add milk which lwers the temperature cnsiderably. Hwever,tea﹣drinkers in Iran and mate﹣drinkers in Suth America ften enjy their beverages at clser t 70degrees Celsius.
