I always saw myself as an hnest persn. The nly time I’d ever lied was t prtect smene’s feelings. But that wasn’t really lying. I wuld tell myself that it was an act f kindness!
And then I had a therapy (治疗) perid, when I realized that all f this was actually peple-pleasing behaviur. “As scial media becmes increasingly imprtant in ur lives, its impact ges beynd ur waking hurs, and may influence ur dreams,” said the study’s lead authr Reza Shabahang, a prfessr at Flinders University in Australia.
The study included 595 Iranian adults wh regularly used scial media. The 595-adult grup was asked t fill ut a 14-questin survey, called the Scial Media-Related Nightmare Scale (SMNS), t measure the type f nightmares and hw frequently they ccurred. “Participants(参与者) were requested t specifically fcus n nightmares rather than general dreams,” the study said.
Results shwed that the mst cmmn dream was being unable t lg in(登录) t scial media platfrms. Accrding t the study, thse wh reprted using scial media mre frequently than thers experienced media - related nightmares mre ften. The participants were divided int tw grups — thse ver 27 years ld and under — with the average age being 27.75 and the study fund there wasn’t a significant difference between the age grups.
“Many yung peple are digital natives, brn in the scial media age and never knwing a time in which there is n scial media in life,”the authrs wrte in the study.
