They fund themselves in truble because a tugher species, the brwn lizards, was intrduced t the place where they lived. They mved higher up the trees and sn adpated t the new envirnment.
2. What is the main message f the passage?
The main message is the survival f the fittest.

Evidence in nature:
Tawny wls, a type f reddish-brwn r grey Eurpean bird, actually cme in tw clurs. And in Finland, the freezing, snwy winters give pale grey birds a camuflage (保护色) advantage ver their darker brwn-feathered cunterparts (同类). But as the Finnish winters get milder, the grey wls are disappearing. The birds get their plumage (羽毛) clur frm their parents. The grey tawnys, being better hidden frm their enemies in the snw, seem t have ther genetic advantages that make them healthier and strnger. But despite this, the brwn wl ppulatin is nw larger than that f the greys, because the warmer winters have imprved the brwn wls’ chances f survival.
