Hurricanes are strng trpical strms, and they usually ccur in the suthern Atlantic Ocean, The Caribbean Sea and the Gulf f Mexic.

Hurricane Katrina was ne f the deadliest hurricanes that hit Luisiana n August 29, 2005. It was the mst destructive natural disaster in U.S. histry. It impacted 93,000 square miles. Its strm surge crested at 27 feet.
Katrina was massive befre it even made landfall. Its hurricane-frce winds reached 75 nautical miles (海里) east f the center. Its maximum winds stretched 25 t 30 nautical miles. It frced the evacuatin f 75% f the 819 manned il platfrms in the Gulf f Mexic.
By the time it made its way t suthern Flrida n Aug. 25, Katrina was a mderate Categry 1 hurricane. Katrina re-intensified int a hurricane n Aug. 26, and became a Categry 5 strm n Aug. 28, with winds blwing at abut 175 mph (280 kph). The strm weakened t a Categry 3 strm befre making landfall alng the Luisiana-Mississippi brder n the mrning f Aug. 29 with sustained winds f 120 mph (193 kph).
