    (2021·华中师范大学第一附属中学高一上期中) 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Mike licked (舔) the last f the mint chclate chip ice cream. It was almst time t leave. He jumped int the car with his parents and headed ff t the Olympic-sized pl fr the big swim meet. When his race came up, Mike was cnfident. He was strng and swift. Mike climbed ut the pl, smiling. He had just wn first place, making him the fastest by in his age grup. “Cngratulatins, sn,” his father said. His mm gave him a hug, even thugh he was saking wet. A week later, it was time fr anther swim meet. Like befre, Mike decided t enjy his favrite ice cream. Mike remembered that the last time he had wn a race, he als ate mint chclate chip ice cream first. Maybe he’d win again. He tk first place again in his race. Mike was feeling pretty gd. As it turned ut, Mike decided t have mint chclate chip ice cream befre every ne f the next few swim meets. He began t think f it as his lucky charm (幸运符). After several mnths f being placed in the tp psitins f every race he swam, Mike was feeling unbeatable. And he wuldn’t admit it, but all that ice cream was adding a few punds t his athletic swimmer’s build. It didn’t take lng after that fr Mike t start cming in secnd place—and then third—and then last place in his races.
    The lucky mint chclate chip ice cream had lst its magic. On the day f his next swim meet, his mther sat dwn at the table with him. “Mike, we all lve ice cream, but it’s nt healthy fr yur bdy t eat s much f it. Maybe it’s time t quit the sweet treats fr a while, especially befre yu g swimming.” Mike unwillingly agreed. He went t the swim meet, and didn’t perfrm well. His father ffered t g running with him a few days a week t help him feel better and strengthen his muscles.     Mike remembered that the last time he had wn a race, he als ate mint chclate chip ice cream first. Mike记得上次他赢得比赛时,他也是先吃了薄荷巧克力冰淇淋。 本句是主从复合句。that引导宾语从句,作“remembered”的宾语;the last time起连词作用,引导时间状语从句。
    续写第一段:原材料中有很多对主人公Mike的心理描写,比如赛前信心满满,得第一名以后沾沾自喜,接连夺冠后感觉自己天下无敌,等等。续写第一段首句中的“Mike wasn’t sure what t expect”写的是Mike在赛前的想法,可以继续描写他在赛前的心理活动。续写第二段首句的内容是“比赛终于结束了”,所以续写第一段应该描写Mike在这次比赛中是如何表现的。即本段接下来可写:1. Mike在赛前的心理活动;2. Mike完成比赛的经过,以动作描写为主,并注意要为下一段的比赛结果做一定的铺垫。 续写第二段的开头语:“比赛终于结束了。”接下来应写:1. Mike的比赛成绩如何;2. 得知结果后Mike以及其他人的反应;3. 思考或感悟,比如思考“Is there such a thing as a lucky charm?”或“What cntributed t Mike’s success?”这样的问题,Mike曾经认为是他的“lucky charm”让他有了优异的表现,可最后他意识到冰淇淋对他来说并不是什么“lucky charm”(而是他成功的绊脚石),或他知道了根本不存在什么“lucky charm”,抑或是他终于明白了到底什么才是他真正的“lucky charm”。

Feeling ⑤determined t pass him, Mike fund the pwer in his muscles.

His teammates cheered ludly, and his parents were ⑧grinning frm ear t ear. “Let’s g grab yur favrite ice cream and celebrate!” said his father. “Thanks, but I’ll pass n the ice cream; it’s nt such a lucky charm after all!” replied Mike.(174 wrds)
    ⑥“the race was ver”与本段开头语中的“the end f the race”语义衔接。⑦用“jaw drpped”表达了Mike在得知自己刷新了纪录时感到非常惊讶。⑧“grinning frm ear t ear”表示“笑得合不拢嘴”,生动地表现出父母当时高兴的心情。
