1.与所给短文及段落开头语的衔接程度;
2.内容的丰富性;
3.应用语法结构和词汇的丰富性和准确性;
如:wh, when, where, why, what, hw.

There Are N Vans
T me, what Thanksgiving really means is giving gd thanks, nt eating turkey. By the time I was 18 I had created my Thanksgiving ritual (惯例). I wuld g ut shpping and buy enugh fd fr ne r tw families. Then I wuld dress like a delivery by, g t the prest neighbrhd and just knck n a dr, and wuld always include a nte saying “All that I ask in return is that yu take gd enugh care f yurself s that smeday yu can d the same thing fr smene else.” I have received mre frm this annual ritual than I have frm any amunt f mney I've ever earned, especially ne such experience in New Yrk City.
Several years ag I was in New Yrk City with my newly married wife during Thanksgiving. She was sad because we were nt with ur family. Nrmally she wuld be hme decrating the huse fr Christmas, but we were stuck here in a htel rm. I said, “Hney, lk, why dn't we decrate sme lives tday instead f sme trees?” When I tld her what I always d n Thanksgiving, she gt excited. I said, “Let's g smeplace where we can really appreciate wh we are, what we are able t d and what we can really give. Let's g t the pr neighbrhd Harlem and feed sme peple there in need. We'll g buy enugh fd fr six r seven families fr 30 days. We've gt enugh. Let's g d it!”
We started by getting a van (货车), but there seemed n vans in all f New Yrk City. The rent-a-car places were all ut f vans. My wife was disappinted, and I said, “Lk, the bttm line is that if we want smething, we can make it happen! All we have t d is take actin. There are plenty f vans here in New Yrk City. Lk dwn at the street. D yu see all thse vans? Let's g get ne!” My wife agreed and we tk actin.
Paragraph 1:
We tried stpping vans as they were driving dwn the street.
Paragraph 2:
Eventually a van drve up and the driver said yes.
Paragraph 1:
We tried stpping vans as they were driving dwn the street.
Hwever, they came, they saw and they sped up, nly t leave ash and dirt dancing in the air.
Yet the drivers either give a cld shulder t ur frantically-waving hand(疯狂挥手), r sped past us, drwning ur hpe in the deafening(震耳欲聋的) rar f engines.
Hwever, as if exerted a curse, welcming us were either vans zming away with thunderus rars, sme drivers' scrnful wrds, r thers' ludly and impatiently pressing their hrns, leaving us dumbfunded(目瞪口呆的).
Fingers numbed(麻木,此处为动词)by the chilly(刺骨的)wind, thrat chked by dusty air, we felt ever s alne n the crwded streets f New Yrk — “Wh can we turn t?” my wife murmured with a fierce frwn.
Hurs creeping by, what I culd d was waving my fatigued arms and pening my thirsty thrat autmatically.
Staring int my wife's red-rimmed(满眼通红的)eyes, we fund urselves n the verge(边缘) f giving up, until it suddenly dawned n me — Hpe always fell at the last minute and patience was the tuchstne.
The nearly-extinguished(快要熄灭的)sparks f hpe were instantly rekindled(点燃), encuraging us t g n with the search fr a van that culd deliver the gdwill brimming in us.
Paragraph 2: Eventually a van drve up and the driver said yes.
Hearing the simple yes, we all jumped with jy.
T ur big surprise, the driver even ffered t jin us.
Shwering him in a string f thanks, we immediately set ut t purchase, and then headed fr Harlem.
Tgether we packed them up, carried them nt the van and went t buildings where there were even peple living withut electricity.
That night, we witnessed the ther side f the seemingly glamrus(耀眼的)city — families struggling desperately n the edge f pverty, rphans withut a rf ver their heads... Yet when we gave them fd, heart-felt appreciatin culd be seen n all thse pale and weather-beaten faces, radiating enugh warmth t melt the cldest winter.
Tears turned int frst, cvering ur faces, yet we felt ur inner wrld flaming ht.
It was the wrst f times, but it was als the best f times. We cannt change this unfair wrld that make the rich and pr divide, but at least we can ffer ur kindness, fr the helpless suls — even in a city where “there are n vans.”
原文:It was a truly fulfilling experience t make even a small difference. Yu see, yu can make anything happen if yu cmmit t it and take actin. Miracles like this happen every day — even in a city where “there are n vans.”
(环境描写,可以力求一个渐变的技巧,譬如在小说I survive里有一句:The wind maned at first. Then it started t hwl, and finally it was shrieking s ludly Dad had t turn up the TV.)
从开始的充满希望到绝望:“Wh can we turn t?” my wife murmured with a fierce frwn... we fund urselves n the verge(边缘)f giving up. 到重新充满期待:The nearly-extinguished(快要熄灭的)sparks f hpe were instantly rekindled(点燃). Hwever, they came, they saw and they sped up, nly t leave ash and dirt dancing in the air. 和It was the wrst f times, but it was als the best f times.

There, she saw her husband, a man staring at her, wearing an expressin f relief. As tightly as pssible, she hugged him and was t thrilled t say anything. Besides, they agreed never t quarrel again, determining t live the life t the fullest.
在 "Eager and excited, she flagged her yellw bluse…"
此外, "There, she saw her husband, a man staring at her, wearing an expressin f relief."
